  • I'm sure Turtle and Frog would enjoy being bigger, but they're never going to be pretty. :)

  • Some believe that big is beautiful.

  • here are crime statistics for Park Slope:

    http://www.ci.nyc.ny.us/html/nypd/downloads/pdf/crime_statistics/cs078pct.pdf

And, yes, there is crime here like everywhere in NYC, but, some of you are making it sound as if it is not safe to walk down the streets. Come on, you leave your bike locked up outside and then are shocked when your bike seat is stolen? This is common knowledge that bike seats get stolen, I can't believe your bike wasn't taken! I think people get lulled into a false sense of security because this is such a good safe neighborhood and people forget, it is still Y, you still have to be careful. But, it is by far not crime ridden!

I'm still waiting for an answer from Vince or his buddy, Very happy Sloper (whom I think is the same person), to tell me exactly where this meeting is since i don't see how it is at PS 321

  • LongtermSloper,

I think it was Confucius who once said "it is best to ask good questions only of those who have good answers".

I believe you followed his advice when you sought the crime stats from the NYPD website, but do not believe you are doing so now.

  • Thank you all for inquiring about the meeting that is to happen on Sunday. Anyone interested in the meeting please private message me. I will gladly link you with the posted flyer if you prove to be the real deal. Why such secrecy? Well, let me say that ever since I joined this forum I have been treated like a step child by the moderators. Recently I have been attacked by other long time posters and upon defending myself I have been viciously warned by the moderators to stop my behavior or I would be banned. I found this one sided punishment to be very biased and quite unsavory so I launched a lengthy message to the moderators who sanctioning me and low and behold even stranger things started to happen. For starters a few of my topics were made handicapped so no one could see them. An unsavory comment was placed under my icon name in order to embarrass me. Some of my comments were erased and to make matters worse last night my password was rendered inoperable. Thank god for reset. Why are all these obstacles being strewn in my path? Why does the truth wound certain moderators? Why does progress make them so uncomfortable? Is it because I dared to mention the unthinkable in their book?...THERE IS CRIME IN PARK SLOPE! Yes, there is crime in Park Slope and yes it is getting worse. The above member just posted the crime statistics for the Park Slope area and it is is not peaches and cream like the moderators are trying to make it out to be.

Only a fool lies to the public but it is a greater fool who lies to himself. The organization of a Tenant Patrol should not be seen as a threatening occupational force but instead applauded as a saving grace. Drastic times call for drastic measures and it really saddens me that a select few are intent on sabotaging a wonderful thing.

It is for this reasons that I will only give out the information to people who are interested in earnest. I will not have morons coming to the meeting to disrupt it as has already been threatened by envious posters. If you are really interested please message me with your name and phone number. I will only deal with you in person and if you pass muster you shall be invited to the meeting. So far we have confirmed 18 people to the event and I pray that more shall follow.

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE INTEREST AND GOD BLESS.

  • i'm sure 99% this thread is genuine synthetic leather.

  • now i'm 100%.

  • AW-

100% synthetic leather is the best because asses stick to it.

  • This tenant Patrol will not be modeled like those inbred fools in Crown Heights. Yes I said inbred because last summer I had my own run in with them as I bicycled down Ocean Parkway. Another story for another time.
FYI, since you've only been here for a year and a half, Ocean Parkway is no where near Crown Heights. And the Lubavichers will kick your ass if you start to confuse them with Satmar.

Both groups are the same in my book. They stink to high heaven , they disrespect all other communities, they are comprised of village idiots and they disrespect women in general. They are just a band of roving imbeciles who are not even respected by the other piggly wigglies in blue.

I pray that Vince, does not take a page out of the book of these supposed watch groups. The best thing he can do is reach out to Curtis Sliwa for some sound advice. The Guardians Angels have their act together.

  • The best thing he can do is reach out to Curtis Sliwa

He is in luck; Sliwa will speak to anyone. ...but the intelligent know better than to listen.

NYCHA, on the other hand, runs some good programs.

  • I would love to be able to post information on this meeting. However, your cowardly moderators censor whatever posts they don't agree with or like. Typical tough guy behind the keyboard and a complete coward in real life. I guess you will have to message Vince for the info.

  • don't tell me they aren't the same people or group of people who hatch a plan to troll this board LOL.

  • this reminds me of the hat gender posts.

  • 01110011011101000110111101110000001000000110011001100101011001010110010001101001011011100110011100100000011101000110100001100101001000000111010001110010011011110110110001101100011100110010000001110100011010000110000101101110011010110111001100101110

  • No one is trolling anything. A few of us are tired of being victims of crime and nothing be done with it. If you don't like or dont agree with a thread then just ignore it and go elsewhere. The only trolls I see on here are the moderators who sensor threads they don't like. I don't feel I've been disrespectful. If I continue to be sensored for no reason then I will have to take this matter to the next level.

  • and was that a threat?

Best response in this post by far, and that includes the comment about "vicious warnings"

  • I would like to formally announce the creation of a second neighborhood watch group with the mission of watching Vince's neighborhood watch group, in the event that they get into any kind of trouble while fighting crime. My group will aslo have a secondary mission, which is to fight vampires. My group will be called the "Shadow Snipes," and we will wear uniforms based on this design:

  • If a join a group, I am joining Danny's group. He has a better plan, and his group doesn't have dorky hats like Sliwa's.

  • Vince, I sent you a PM, why haven't you answered? I was very respectful

  • It's a neighborhood watch..... WITHIN A NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH!!!

  • I will join nightwatch but only if its as cool as this

    Attached files image
  • that shadow snipes costume is a little ghey. needs atleast super hero undies on the outside before i join!!!

  • Mr. Vince, if it is o.k with you I would like a few minutes to address the folks in attendance regarding the rodent problem at JJ Byrne park. BTW, what kind of pastries are acceptable at this function? I'm buying.

  • Pyrrhic, as soon as we get the more important matters out of the way you can have the floor. As for the pastries perhaps a few boxes of Entenmanns cakes will suffice. Thomas already has pledged the coffee and tea.

  • I just want to know why no one at PS 321 knows about this meeting on Sunday (and it's not on their website)

  • Vince, I think it would be a good idea for everyone to bring at least one gluten free dessert.
