What is wrong with this thread?

Due to the close proximity to Park Slope, most topics are discussed in the PS forum. The WT board thus is mainly used for WT-specific topics.
-
But we have lots of issues going on in Windsor Terrace and Kensington: From Development, to new restaurants, to shopping local, etc.
-
Start new threads, and I am sure people will love to contribute!

Kensingtonblog is a blog for the Kensington area. It has been a bit slow lately but it has a lot of updates on bars and stuff. KWTNeighbors is the neighborhood list serve (yahoo) for Kensington and Windsor Terrace and there are a lot of members. It is pretty active although many of the issues are more for homeowners than single renters if that matters.

KWTNeighbors is okay, but its not anonymous...so a bit too PC for me

it does seem like the double windsor is the only thing here anyone wants to talk about -
well, it's the coolest thing in windsor terrace and it's not even open yet!
-
wait, forgot about dub pies.
okay, 2nd coolest -
KWTneighbors kind of sucks -- I mean if you don't have kids or don't knit.
But I think part of the problem here is a lack of props to K-Town. If you hover over the "Neighborhoods" link above, Kensington is lumped in with Flatbush/Midwood/Ditmas Park. Windsor Terrace gets its own link. But here we are bundled with WT. Misleading!
Anyway, I wish someone would open a bar like Double Windsor on Church Avenue. -
many posts about windsor terrace get posted in the park slope section. thats part of whats wrong with the windsor terrace/kensington board

I wish they can get rid of all the stickies/global posts that do not involve Windsor Terrace/Kensington. I don't care about the BBQ/happy hours/etc that are not in our neighborhood. -
Stickies are only for one nabe board, specific to that board. So you should not be seeing any here that are not WT specific.
The globals are usually short term, about a week, and used to bring interest to all the boards on an issue/topic/event. Mostly for those who don't check the other boards and might have otherwise missed out. For instance the Bear Mountain BBQ has been up for a while only because there is a poll for picking a date and we want all brooklynians to know that they are welcome to attend (there's even car pooling!). I'm sorry it annoys you, but it's actually meant as a good-will gesture. Trying to reach out to everyone, you know?
Have you guy thought about organizing a WT event? Or let your neighbors know about this website! Then more will participate.

there are over 2,000 members but it is not a place for fighting--it is merely a neighborhood board for local information about the hood. There are events that happen over here that are not family only such as readings in the garden, and Roller Derby Fitness classes, free concerts etc. The board does need more people without kids....but that is up to you guys to bring your voice to the board and bring up issues that are NOT family oriented. We do need another bar over here but we have Brancaccios for great food on Ft. Hamilton Parkway which is very excellent and Brooklyn Commune is pretty nice for coffee and there is a new coffee shop opening up next door to Joes on Ft. Hamilton and of Course Sean Caseys Rescue Center....All really great things in the neighborhood.

and a big styrofoam cup from Farrells really does the trick
