  • Scarlett if you are seriously concerned about this person actually coming after you as soon as he is released you should be extremely proactive concerning your safety.

Not knowing what crime occurred it's difficult to give accurate advice but you do have options, moving is an extreme one and I would only consider it personally if I was positive that someone was going to kill-badly injure me.

You can get restraining orders, mace, other weapons that may or may not be legal, someone to break his fucking legs when he's released?

Just saying that I hate to see anyone bullied, victimized or intimidated.

  • So, I'm a bit curious now.... I have to assume you know this "dude" and this wasn't some random assault. Seems you have his first and last name and he has a good idea of your whereabouts on the outside.

Which leads me to a few questions: 1) WTF happened? 2) He must be charged with something, right? 3) If he is charged, and you're the witness then why the hell aren't the cops in contact with you?

  • Same here as DR...what happened? Robbery? Attack?

With all the violent crime going on in SSP, GWH and SPS, you'd think the cops would be more "on it."

  • sorry to come in the middle of this-- but is this the guy who they were looking for for the sexual assaults? did they ever make an arrest for that?

thanks. hope everyone is safe(r) now.

  • This not the guy who's doing the assaults. This was an isolated incident.

  • Actually, I'm pretty sure it is the guy who was doing the sex assaults. At least according to the web.

I'm glad this guy is off the street at least for a little while.

  • Actually, DR, it's not the same guy. Scarlett knows this person and I know Scarlett. Very much not the same guy.

But, yes- we should all be relieved that this particular person is off the streets for the time being.

  • Thanks Whatchu.

Definitely not the same guy. A drunken possessive psychotic boyfriend, yes. Sexual assaults? No.

  • that sucks :(, if this was like back in hs, i would say have a bunch of guys visit him and teach him a lesson.

but these days adults different story. ever thought about shaming him? like publishing his name etc.... but i wonder if there is any libel involved etc...

  • Definitely not the same guy.

    Oh... cool.

Well, I'm glad you got a chance to tell your story publicly via the internet.

Nothing I enjoy more then half stories and incomplete information. :)

    A drunken possessive psychotic boyfriend

Hmmmmm.... aren't they all in the eyes of a scorned woman?

    Just saying.

No, the drunken, possessive psychotic ones get that treatment. The rest are usually just deemed assholes.

  • And to think this board was once a vibrant, lively spot where friendly folks could share news about neighborhood pig roasts.

And whose fault is that? I blame the regulars, the selective editing (mods), and the naivete with regard web baiting and childish retaliations.

The fact is people on this board get off on putting people down and complaining. Never in my life have I seen so many whiners in one place.

  • friendly hardly :p, but vibrant yes :p.

    Okay, Kettle...

  • Someone GODWIN this post already!

  • Okay, Kettle...

And the maturity drum just keeps on banging... So long as I act like an asshole, it's okay if the rest of you do? Cool - so we are all 8 yrs old on this board.

Also, not sure when it became okay for someone to publicly call their ex-bf a drunken psycho who got his ass arrested... frankly, it borders on defamation of character as the bf in question is clearly known by many members of this board. Not to mention the legality of a plaintiff or key witness openly discussing an active criminal case.

Does this airing of grievances in a semi-anonymous setting somehow make one feel better? Or do you all really have nothing better to do?

  • LOL, Armchair!

Not quite defamation. In fact, far from it. I met him once- not sure how many on this board met him, but I would think barely a couple. No one here has used his name, and the circumstances of the incident have not been mentioned at all, so........yea.

  • Oh... so you met him... but "barely a couple" other people did. That's good. Thanks for clearing that up.

Well, as long as some vague talk about what is clearly a major "incident" doesn't get posted on the internet... or on a thread with over 4000 views we should be fine.

    Oh wait. My bad dog.

  • so, wait, was it the same guy??

    lolarmchair

  • so, wait, was it the same guy??

    YES!!

  • It would confirm the belief held by some: There is no knowledge outside of the internet.

  • In defense of and out of respect for my friend, it's not my place to go into the details of what happened. However, I can safely say that it was not a major incident to anyone in the community, although a few were inadvertently involved. It was a guy that got out of hand and the cops were called. Period. Nothing to see here, folks.

I can only say in Scarlett's defense- she came on here looking for advice. She didn't come on here looking to share what is an incredibly sensitive and personal experience with everyone here. It's stupid ex-boyfriend shit, period.

I'm not condoning any behavior. I'm simply pointing out that the guy accusing board members of being assholes is one of the biggest assholes on the board. Nothing more, nothing less.

  • Um... she came here "looking for advice" on "how long the guy would rot" for. Cool beans.

    It's stupid ex-boyfriend shit, period.

Fine - I get that. What I don't get is how the hell this material benefits the community, is relevant to the community, or how this in any way is appropriate for a community based message board.

It's no secret that the only sound coming from this board is a lonely, not so far off, death rattle of irrelevance.

  • I'm simply pointing out that the guy accusing board members of being assholes is one of the biggest assholes on the board.

You just got promoted from Sergent Major in charge of Apparent Affairs straight to Captain Obvious. Keep it up - you'll be General "No Shit dude" in no time.

so, you don't think Brooklynian's IPO on NASDAQ will go well?

I was thinking we'd raise enough for a round of drinks.
