Adorable Kittens need a home ASAP!
The guys doing the gut reno at 564 Sterling Place found 3 kittens in the building abandoned by their mother.
They're so small you'll need to feed them with an eyedropper. They're very cute and sweet.

Stop by 564 Sterling Place if you're interested in adopting one. They really need to find a home ASAP.
PM me if you want the number of one of the guys at the site. They'll be there until 5PM today.

They look pretty healthy but yes, very small. They will need to be fed KMAR formula (found at any pet store) with a kitten bottle or they will die. Mom may just be hanging around somewhere and hasn't actually abandoned them but their fate may be sealed as feral kittens if they aren't rescued now unfortunately. If the workers aren't able to find home they should try to take them to Sean Casey, Empty Cages Collective, or AC&C in hopes that a rescue group will pull them. How wonderful that the workers are trying to help them! If left there alone in this heat they would just end up dying unfortunately.

You are correct. These kittens are in need of an immediate if temporary caretaker or they will not survive. Someone who could at least give them water and a cool place to stay on their way to a shelter or an adopted home.

Can the workers at least take them to AC&C? Maybe a rescue group could pull them.

I called the worker and someone has already saved them. Thank you kind person for helping these kittens. And thank you eastbloc for starting the thread! Together we can make a difference.

This is a relief. Thanks for following up.

You should NEVER take to AC&C - they will be put down as they are too young to eat on their own! Hopefully a reliable rescue with a nursing queen took them in. Bottle feeding kittens this small is a huge task and they are so fragile it is not uncommon for them not to make it without an experienced rescuer.

I am a huge animal advocate and actually disagree. The AC&C does serve a purpose even though sadly it is an end for so many animals. Taking a cat to the AC&C and having it euthanized is better than some of the fates that these cats are dealt. There is not enough homes for them all and dying on the street is way worse than being euthanized. AC&C will always take an animal while no kill shelters are almost always full. Rescue groups do pull animals from AC&C and they at least have a chance there. If someone can not keep their cat or find a stray animal, I would much rather than take it to AC&C than leave it to fend for itself. That is a much more cruel fate. Euthanasia is inevitable unfortunately. But yes, it is sad. If more people did rescue work it would be a different story but until then it is what it is. Not everyone is equipped to take care of an animal. And no kills shelters - heck, they aren't so great either. Yes, they don't euthanize but some of them still live their live in sub par conditions. But not taking a cat to AC&C due to potential euthanasia is not the answer. I would rather a cat be euthanized than hit by a car, starve to death, end up in the wrong hands, suffer with disease, etc. And again, this is coming from someone that has rescued hundreds of cats over the years. And I still feel that AC&C does serve a purpose. I know that everyone doesn't feel that way and that it ok.

Absolutely. Euthanasia minimizes suffering, which arguably is the point...
