I am looking for a reputable Rug & Upholstery cleaning service. Anyone have any experience with any? I would like to choose a green company.

I haven't used them yet but will soon. Jared called and was really polite and professional. I will have him clean two rugs and an armchair for $125.

  • I don't have a recommendation but had a bad experience a month or so ago looking for someone to clean some armchairs. There were all these places that seemed vaguely plausible but were actually fake "local" websites for shady national franchises. Eventually this one guy came out, looked at my chairs, said he couldn't clean them, and charged me $30 for the visit, although the person who booked the appointment had never mentioned any such thing. I vaguely considered trying to dispute it on my credit card but it didn't seem worth the hassle. It was sketchville--I would definitely only go with a personal recommendation even if they seem to be charging more. Would be interested to hear how these JL people turn out.

  • For carpet cleaning I used a company that I dont recommend- I wasnt that impressed with their service. In the future I will just rent a carpet cleaner at the grocery store.

For rug cleaning I used ABC Carpet cleaning ( same folks from ABC Home). They did an amazing job on my handmade persian rug. But they arent cheap at $3.50 per sq ft. I wanted to be sure that my rug with natural dyes wouldnt be ruined by the cleaning process. They did a fab job cleaning a really soiled rug. Check them out http://www.abchomecare.com/company/index.html. They also do upholstery.
