I just took an Urban Foraging class @ the park a few weeks ago that was pretty cool

This seems to take it to the next level eh?

  • The use of illegal hooks and leaving lines all over is irresponsible. But the ducks, fish and pigeons being caught and presumably eaten live much better lives than the cows, chickens and pigs etc... That are factory farmed. Factory farming feeds the vast majority of Americans.

This story is extremely interesting and will hopefully spark a lively discussion here. Thanks OP.

  • Mmmmmm. I love the taste of Parasitic Pigeons in the morning.

If not for the fact that chickens can essentially fend for themselves at hatching, squab might have been the poultry of choice - rock doves (pigeons) have been domesticated for millennia and were originally brought to North America as a food source... and I hear that they're quite tasty! (Well, can't vouch for the ferals)

  • I understand why poor people do this from picking fruits or nuts to hunting, they are atleast aren't on welfare :p.

I known some immigrants do this cause they are poor and pretty proud not to take a government handout.

  • Squab anyone?
