We like this place a lot, just ate there last week. I had the striped sea bass, hubby had the burger. The mussels are always very good and we had the stuffed mushrooms with feta and spinach. They have this special every so often called beef strudel, it is very much like beef wellington, but slightly different. It is very good, though, on the rich side. Hubby is a big fan of lamb, I am not,m but, he likes the lamb shank a lot. I tend towards fish dishes.

Trying to think what else we have had there, we have eaten there alone and with other people quite a few times. They do serve liquor, yet, they still allow you to BYOB and there is no corkage fee. It's a warm, friendly atmosphere and they don't push you out.

I love it. I haven't had their whole fish, but I can vouch for any of their fileted fish dishes. Everything else I've had there (moussaka, mussels) is good to very good.

A friend and I have tried this place about six times over the years (2?) it has been open. I really want to like it, but I just don't. The waiters are always trying to push expensive specials on us and when we have tried them, the quality is not what's expected. The hummus and mezze apps are great, but they could be pre-packaged. I have had stuffed, dried out chicken, dried out fish, mussels (better at Toto), another chicken dish........... if I ever go again, I would just get the apps. I am surprised others like it so much, but to each his own.

Yes, there are restaurants in Astoria that are better but, this is very good for being right here. Also, I guess I have never had the experience of anyone pushing any expensive dishes on me. They tell me the specials and that is it, no oone has ever said I had to have it. To each their own.
