Professional Organizer?
Wondering if anyone has experience using a professional organizer, specifically one that deals with hoarding tendencies? I had the responsibility of checking on some of my less social relatives in the lead up to Irene, and visited one who clearly is on the path to a hoarding problem. I'd like to get the person some intervention while its still "Boy, this place could use a maid" and before "Sure, you can climb up on that pile of clothes to get to the bathroom".
Any suggestions?

I haven't used her myself, but I did get a chance to get to know Mary Mobley at Space Works NY and she is very nice and quite compassionate. If I had to have an organizer foisted on me I believe I would be quite reassured by having her involved in the process. Obviously you can check out her other references, but as a person she is lovely, which I would think would matter in this sort of situation.

Thanks, I'll give her a call.

I'd be curious to know how that works out, homeowner. I have a friend who has an aunt...it's delicate business.
