That is a demonstration of human development stages, it has nothing to do with whether it was a girl taking the test. Just like when you have a baby and you take a ball away from them, they don't realize that it still exists, it's just somewhere else. Which is why peek-a-boo is such a popular game with babies that little, but has nowhere near the same effect on a four year old.

(although you most likely realize that, I know)

Even though my spanish is limited to "four more beers please", "no more", "how much*", and "who is the library" that second video was hilarious.
