Moped Stolen from Hing Lung — Brooklynian

Moped Stolen from Hing Lung

At around 9:15 last night The Hing Lung Restaurant (Vanderbuilt and Pk Place) had their moped stolen tonight, it was yellow with red flames and a shiny but fake exhaust pipe. It had skinny wheels compared to most of the other delivery bikes. There was some talk that it was stolen by two kids. If anyone has any info PM me in the message boards. I'll unload some updates if I get any.

  • How did you hear about this? I assume they reported it to the police - what did the police say?
  • That's a shame...Hing Lung is my favorite chinese place around! Will keep an eye out.
  • I was taking off when the police were showing up, but let me saw this. I'll get an update tonight.

They are soo nice and while it may seem owners have changed they are actually all related and take turns, the kids that used to work there sometime come back and help out. They are really hard working people and ultra respectful and appreciative. Anyways they wanted to get a m-bike to do deliveries and kind of got a not so great deal on the moped and had problems with the registration, the battery, and the rear tire. Finally they got it all sorted out after a month or two and now this.

They are always nice and put up with a lot of shit from jackass customers that I would have punched in the face and will make anything they way you ask for it. As my friend put it, where else can you actually watch them make your food for you with fresh vegetables and stuff for less than 5 bucks? If you havent tried them I recommend it.

I've been very skeptical about the place because of the appearance, but I'll definitely give it a try now.
  • Our kitchen drawer is full of chinese take-out menus with little notes on them ("Huge dumpling sauce, bad black bean"..."Tiny portions"...etc.)

Hing Lung's says BEST!!!...come to think of it, we may as well throw out the others.
  • You may have to ask for a fotune cookie, but they also have an alternate sugar/almond? cookie with a packet of green tea which is good too.
  • Subject: Mopeds

Sorry to hear this happened to folks who seem friendly and run a good restaurant. I wish someone would steal the mopeds from the restaurant at Flatbush and Park (across from the ex-movie-theater) since they regularly ride on the sidewalk and generally act like idiots.
  • Where is Hing Lung?
  • It's right next to the Met. I think. (I've only ever ordered delivery from there)
  • Subject: taken by

by a bunch of kids (12-18yrs old)
They are the ones who roam around at night on bicycles- being loud and obnoxious.
  • ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM
  • ok, before you all start profiling 12 - 18 year old neighborhood kids, I just walked by the place and the scooter in question is sitting safely inside the store.

  • I asked them when I got dinner tonight. They found it over on Bergen last night after closing.

    Not exactly criminal masterminds.

    Liked the chicken curry.
  • I guess once the word got out on DailyHeights the scooter was way too hot and they had to ditch it. If your bike is outside I'd check on it.
