Cops dance while crime runs rampant at the West Indian Day Festivities

The invading force called the N.Y.P.D was too busy dancing in the streets last weekend instead of patrolling them. During all this dancing the criminals were allowed to feel their oats. Where were all the police officers when innocent community members were being shot? They were too busy ignoring their duties. This behavior is disgusting and only lends credence to the fact that these so called police officers are over paid unprofessionals paid to enforce the law in communities that they do not even live in or care about. 100K a yr salary for this kind of service? It is a crying shame. They should all be fired and held accountable for all the crimes allowed to happen on that day.

  • I saw that and its pretty crazy. Two things to clear up though:

    1. I heard its from a previous year, not 2011.

    2. These POs are probably making closer to 50k. Definitely not worth it for the money, imo, but thats another discussion :)

  • 2010? Really? Makes my stomach turn that they been doing this for years and allowing criminal acts to go unchecked. Either way I am pretty sure this is from 2011 as is stated on the video and by the comments on the video. Perhaps this is some sort of master plan to do nothing while things around the parade sink into chaos.

For the record, your initial assessment of 50K is incorrect. A police officer makes about 100K a year after five years. The one moron dancing to his hearts content while dry raping that poor woman has on his shirt what appears to be a pin. I think each pin represents 5 yrs.

They should all be fired or their salaries should be diminished by half. It is not fair that while unemployment is skyrocketing that these individuals should be allowed to make so much money for doing so little. It is unfathomable that 100K is paid to these buffoons.

  • Wow, are there any job openings are NYPD? I would gladly accept a hot West Indian chick bumping and grinding me as a fringe benefit. Hell, I'd even allow biweekly payroll deductions for that!

  • I just saw this on the news and the story is gaining momentum. Thank god for the media. I hope some of these police officers lose their jobs.

People getting shot a few blocks away from them and these police officers were dancing instead of doing something about it. Imagine all the lives that could have been saved if these morons were not busy dancing on the strip.

  • It's called "community policing."

  • Paraderest, you obviously need your eyes checked. If that is community policing then the two officers arrested and tried for raping that drunk victim in Manhattan should be released for servicing the public under the banner of community policing.

Dirty cops always show their true colors and dancing while people get killed a few blocks away should be dealt with a swift firing process.

My guess is these poor cops will be the sacrificial lambs for all of this shooting nonsense. So you will probably have your wish. Although I'm not sure how they would know any shooting took place within three feet of their bodies, much less a few blocks, away with all of the noise. I take it they weren't told by their superiors to leave their posts, either. But cautioning on the side of law and order, I propose arresting the dancers who shook their booties in front of the police officers nether regions, as well, for corrupting said officers' morals and for not assisting the NYPD in apprehending the shooters. I mean why sacrifice ordinary lambs when you can give G-d flamboyant ones?

  • While we may view these officers as being unable to leave their posts, I believe NYPD officers refer to such assignments as "imitating a potted plant".

I.E. 99% of the time they are supposed to stand in a given place and adapt to, but not change, the surrounding weather conditions.

In my view, the officers obeyed the instructions of their superiors.

People getting shot a few blocks away from them and these police officers were going to the bathroom instead of doing something about it. Imagine all the lives that could have been saved if these morons were not busy emptying their bladder on the strip.

People getting shot a few blocks away from them and these police officers were standing around instead of doing something about it. Imagine all the lives that could have been saved if these morons were not busy doing crowd control on the strip.

Percy One, did you happen to see the parade? I believe the floats were full of people "go-go" dancing. Did you happen to view said video and see the girls come up to the officers and "dance" in front of them. Perhaps the officers were "provoked" into dancing with them and enjoying the spirit of the parade. And so a few officers interacted with the some of the dancers... big deal.

And I am trying to imagine how many lives could have be been saved had they not shook their hips with a few parade participants while doing crowd control and damn, I keep coming up empty. I find it hard to imagine that even 1 person could have died because of what they did.

Its seems a bit facile to think that every single cop in Brooklyn should somehow react and "be doing something about it" when the shooting hadn't even taken place. It turns my stomach that some people try to make something out of nothing and try to blame every single cop for EVERYTHING that happens.

  • The only one doing provoking here is PercyOne. It's what he or she does... or tries to do.

  • Looks as if Ray Kelly and Bloomberg aren't all that upset about a little bump and grind:
