Any info about 919 Park Place history?
You all seem to know a lot, so can anyone tell me what they know about the history of 919 Park Place (at NY Ave, across from Hebron school)?
We have been living here for a year and have always suspected that they are illegally de-regulating the rent-stabilized units. We have a ton of evidence, but we need to know a few more things to confirm.
Has the building ever gone co-op? If so, when? What percent went co-op and what happened to the rest? Where people ever kicked out if/when the building went co-op?
Any information on these issues is much appreciated.

919 Park Place has an interesting history. I suggest that Montrose Morris on Brownstoner take a look at it sometime.
I do know that there was an attempt to convert it to a coop but the attempt resulted in very few units sold.
The building was then sold to New Destiny Housing, formerly Victim Services Agency, which intended to use it to house victims of domestic abuse when possible.
At some point New Destiny sold it to another group that to my knowledge is the current owner. I suspect they are out to make a buck, come what may. This seems to an increasing trend in the City. You know, money rules and if you don't get that, then you're just a fool.
Landlords have become increasingly good at hiding their identities and the City ownership records yields very little meaningful information about who the principal owners are.
I think your best source of information is other residents, especially the longer term ones. Your also might reach out to Pratt Area Community Council which has a tenant advocacy unit. -

I have found both "Montrose" and Emily at Brownstoner to be very receptive to requests for assistance.

Court records are actually a good place to look, if you want to find the property owners real identities. Ask any tenant who has been sued or who is suing the management. Or look at the housing court dockets for that property. Usually the parties who are executing the eviction are the actual company who retains the ownership privilege in order to execute a court ordered legal action such as an eviction proceeding.
