So, I'm walking out of the Key Foods on Flatbush at Sterling, waiting for the light to change, and I see a very, um, provocatively dressed woman milling around on the corner. A man approaches her, they talk, he plays with the straps on her dress, he walks away, he walks back, and they walk off, down Sterling towards 7th Ave. Meanwhile, there's a weird looking guy watching the whole thing while sitting in front of the bodega. Normally, that bodega seems to attract some (harmless) characters. This man wasn't one of the usual crew. In fact, I didn't see any of the usual crew hanging around.

Now, I don't know how these things work, and maybe (hopefully) this was nothing. I would think that prostitutes wouldn't start so early (this was around 9pm.) I can't, however, avoid observing that the whole interaction seemed odd.

I can't find it tonight, but wasn't someone recently posting here about possible prostitution up by Atlantic Yards?

    I'd be surprised if that location was used for street walking, but you may have witnessed someone who had requested an outcall escort service via phone, meeting his "companion" for the evening.

    Women who do outcalls often are accompanied by a male "co-worker" to ensure safety and payment, especially with new clients.

    I'm intrigued by how much you know about this, whynot. :)

    I actually walked past two women, who seemed to be working girls, dressed in super tight short dresses one night on PPW. They were on benches on the park sidewalk and had what sounded like a potential client on speaker phone and were discussing physical appearance, times, etc.

    My favorite conversation was on LIRR.

    The guy was apparently so horny he forgot (or didn't care) that he was talking on his cell phone on a crowded train. He stated, "I'd like her to make it an overnight for an additional $500. She is one of the best f_ _ _ s you have"

    Everyone just sort of looked at each other....

    The reason I ask about the dressing, is many years back these girls I knew deliberately wear little black short skirts and deliberately walk around park slope to get older men just to gawk lol. They were in college around then. I was like :O. lol Anyway they normally dress normal and never wear skirts.

    I guess someone probably got dump or something at the time who knows :p.

    Have we learned nothing from the 90 Grados thread on "prostitute looking women?" Just because someone wears a tight dress and flirts with men does not mean she's a ho. Maybe he was trying to determine what brand of 40 his date was worth buying from the bodega.
