Happy didn't have to move my car once this week!
-
Argh. Why don't I have off tomorrow?
Everyone celebrate Veterans' Day by seeing spurn tomorrow!
-
I will see if I can get the Mrs to go.
-
-
Happy Friday people!
-
Happy Friday indeed! Tonight marks the final Friday performance of spurn, folks, come on out!
In December, we move to Thursdays at 8:00 pm.
-
Ugh, I'm all stuffed up and can't take anything. My place of limited employment has it's holiday fair tomorrow and then an alumni thing, so I'll go eat on someone else's dime and make polite conversation with lucky shmucks who get to drink.
But next week I only work Monday (again, not always lovely when part-time) but I'll be able to take some time to recover from whatever bug the subway riders or teenagers gave me.
-
I am also feeling really stuffy and sore-throat-y. It sucks. I don't feel sick enough to take a sick day, but am sick enough to not enjoy my time after work. Ugh. Tonight it looks like time on the couch with a stupid movie and some tea. Or hot liquor. We'll see...
-
Hot apple cider with rum was recently declared a vegetable by the people who make cider and rum.
-
Hot mulled cider with Jack was always my favorite way to go. Mmmmm. Instead I made hot soup that has lots of ginger, garlic, and jalapenos. My sinuses won't know what hit them. Ahahahahah!
-
whoa, today is like Friday, but it is really Wednesday!
...I'm the only one who seems to have not gotten the memo about having to bring vinyl luggage to work!
-
Hmm. While I'm the only one wh seems to have not gotten the "don't bother coming in today" memo...
-
Is it Friday again yet?
-
Congratulations, We made it to Friday once again! I have my baby shower to look forward to tomorrow and relatives from VT are due to come in today.
One cousin got her son all hyped on the idea of seeing the Rockefeller Center tree, but I'll be damned if I'm going. I will visit any number of tourist attractions, but not that one. I've managed to go my entire life in this city without joining the masses around that tourist trap and I aim to avoid ever having to go see it. I like tourists as much as the next NY-er who realizes our city depends on them, but being surrounded by that many of them with so little reward* makes me itchy. Thankfully I have 3 sisters and a brother who can take on tour guide duty.
*For example: The Empire State Building has lots of tourists, but I really like that one, so the reward is greater for me, making me less itchy.
-
I don't want to jinx myself, but I have managed to avoid having to go into any of the super touristy areas so mar this season, and have yet to be subject to excessive amounts of holiday music.
....ah, Friday is upon us once again.

-
Weirdly, I have been to Rockefeller Center once and Times Square twice this week ... all for work related things. Yuck.
I have so much Christmas shopping to do still! I've never not been done by this time! So stressed!!
-
The closing we were supposed to have prior to Thanksgiving has yet to happen. My lawyer has told me to expect next week (ie.e, the week of the 19th), though my lender has indicated as early as this coming Thursday.
The Holidays, and shopping associated with it, has become something to be ignored until we close... ugh. Not really looking forward to moving right before Christmas. Thi has been a terrible, frustrating process.
-
Good luck ntfool!
...the worst I have to deal with is the annoying tourists in midtown.
-
Good bye 2011!
You were pretty good to me, but I will gladly let you go in exchange for a 3 day weekend.
-
Is it just me, or are other people ready for it to snow?
-
More than ready! Just made reservations to ski in Vermont in mid-February... hoping they'll have snow by then (they do not yet!).
-
I quite enjoyed my time walking the dog in the balmy spring day today. I need any snowstorms to come later in February or Right Now only, so I think you can expect it to get cold and snowy the last week of January through the first week plus of February.
You're Welcome.
-
I've already gotten frostbite on all my toes so I want some damn snow to go with it! I prefer hot sunny weather, but if we must have such cold weather I think we should also get snow.
I know it looks like the snow is gone after a few days in the city and around the neighborhoods but it sticks around the park for a very long time. That means the park is all pretty, the dogs can have extra fun in the snow, I get to sled while walking my dog, and I can let him off at night off-leash because I can actually see my black dog against the white snow.
I'm visiting family (by plane) later this month and set to fly home on the 29th so based on previous experience, I predict it will snow around then and enough to close airports or screw up flights and my mother will be very happy.
-
How important to you is her happiness? Should we hope for snow or not?
-
Whynot,
If you start really hoping for snow around the time of OQ's trip you better have a car and be up for getting me to King's Highway should Z decide to make an appearance. I think it's going to be hard enough to convince a car service to take me anywhere while in labor, if it's a blizzard too I'm going to be One Of Those Stories. -
Tate-
You could be in the newspaper! It would describe the drama, then conclude with a photo of you and Z. Z could start life being famous!Starting tomorrow, I'll be offline for about a week. I know I will survive without the Internet, but will it survive without me?
-
Clearly not. What are you, going through a withdrawal program?
-
Once and a while, I go on vacation.
A small part of me wonders if the same people who complain I post too much, will go somewhere else next week because they have nothing to be unhappy about.
Have I reached the level of "stardom" on this board that some people love to hate me?
If Brooklyn or Brooklynian goes to pot while I am away, I will know that I am a positive influence.
Howdy, Stranger!
