Met Food -- entrance greeter

I'm wondering if anyone knows where Ali went, the really nice guy who used to man the entrance door at Met food (and make deliveries, etc.). He was so nice to me and my kids, always chatting with them and making them smile. Haven't seen him since this summer and my Met trips are much less enjoyable as a result.

  • Do you know why?

  • Maybe his cell was activated. :P

  • So you are a vengeful, conservative Christian, God?

  • Sound like a good reason to create a new God.

  • I dont know, maybe he had greater aspirations in life?

  • There used to be a clerk at the Met Food on 7th Avenue across from ps 321. His father, who owned the store, was a rather unpleasant guy, of Palestinian origin. The son eventually left his father's store. He become a sort of terrorist; a patent lawyer, he terrorized only those unfortunate enough to infringe his clients' patents.

  • The father's name was Artie. And he was a great guy. What he presented as a indifferent demeanor, he more than made up for with his giving to the neighborhood.
