Water Pressure Low on Lincoln Place

This also happened in May -- I heard it wasn't the Construction on Eastern Parkway but was "valves" the DEP accidentally left off.

If you are a top floor in an apartment building the water is a mere trickle --- works better on bottom floors.

Has this been resolved yet? Anyone still having problems???

    Pressure has been down but I still have running water.

    I live on the 2nd floor of a 4 floor building though.

    I'm on the 5th floor and share a duplex with someone on the 4th ---

    4th floor works just barely-

    5th floor is a trickle at best.

    This morning I contacted the person on the Eastern Parkway Project who in turn got me in touch with DEP the last time around (resolving a similar if not the same water pressure issue)--

    If I don't hear back i'll contact community board 8...

    but don't let that stop anyone else here from contacting 311.

    call the DEP - they will send inspectors within 24 hours.

    Hi Joe,

    I called 311 yesterday who should have relayed my complaint to the DEP.

    But this morning, once again it was impossible to take a shower (last evening and other evenings --not much of a problem).

    For effectiveness, do you recommend that I call the DEP or visit their offices? --I would go to Livingston.

    I suppose I could bring video with me---even burn it on a disc.

    I would guess that this is the result of the construction on Eastern Parkway--- I noticed a huge pipe on the surface this morning---Though last time I contacted the Project Construction manager in May he said it wasn't due to his construction work.

    Even if it is due to the construction work ---i'm o.k. with that as long as the residents (me for example!) are given effective notice of the construction work with posted hours that it would affect the water.

    There's a thread on the Crown Heights board about low water pressure. Probably could be related.

    I suppose this is related to Project ID#: BED778 scheduled for completion in Summer 2012 (Uhmm ....I can't wait that long to take a shower in the morning)

    I think Maria Centeno, Director, Office of Community Outreach & Notification DDC, of project need to be contacted -- but I could not find her direct contact info

    So, I contacted Matthew Monahan, "Public Information"

    to give notice that work is impacting Lincoln Place and Classon -- asked that he try to mitigate the situation and that he advise what hours work shall begin (work/water is supposed to be restored by 6 PM each day)

    Some Water Interruptions

    During the course of this project, you may experience water service disruptions. Water may be discolored by

    sediment that has built up in the older pipes, including the service connection to the internal pipes in your own

    building. Even if no construction is performed in front of your building the process of shutting down the old pipes

    can result in discoloration. If this occurs, run ONLY COLD WATER until it appears clear. If it will be necessary for us to turn off your water service, you will receive written notice informing you by the afternoon of the day before service interruption. We suggest you store drinking water to have available in your home or business for the

    period that water service is suspended. Water service is always restored at the end of the workday. Be sure to

    turn off any open valves or faucets to prevent flooding when water service is restored.

    Note If your water service is NOT restored by 6:00 pm, unless the shutoff notice gives special information regarding non-standard hours (e.g. overnight work), please call the 311 Service Center available 24 hours a day

    The NYC Department of Design and Construction (DDC) is managing a capital construction project on Atlantic Avenue from Carlton Avenue to Classon Avenue and on Washington Avenue from Atlantic Avenue to Fulton Street. The project is scheduled for completion in Summer 2012.

    Atlantic Avenue from Carlton Avenue to Clermont Avenue (north side):
