Quiet Cafe/Space/Place to Work
I am looking for a quiet cafe or relatively quiet cafe or place or space where I might be able to work today. Anywhere in Prospect or Crown Heights or Park Slope is fine. Gotta get out of the apartment but would rather not contend with super loud music or loads of babies. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I like Soda Bar during the day. Just tell the 'tender to turn it down if its too loud they usually will.
Oh yea and $3 craft beers.

soda sounds smart -- might work for other bars, too. beware joyce, sit and wonder, milk, and all the other coffee places i can think of -- crowded, noisy, no outlets, lots of
babiesbangs and beards. sometimes people won't even share a table, which is lame IMO -
I would go to the library but it's actually noisy and I fall asleep sometimes and, of course, there are bedbugs. Soda sounds good and maybe even Sepia. I have tried Joyce but, yeah, babies babies babies. Tried this place called Glass in Crown Heights and while it's hip the baristas play the music loud enough to drown out all thought from my brain. Back to the tiny kitchen table I think.

Instead of the library at GAP try one of the smaller neighborhood branches. They tend to be 1-2 rooms so there's fewer places to hide, but as long as you aren't there during story time they are usually really quiet. I'd suggest Franklin Ave, just off Fulton Street, or the Crown Heights library (St Marks?? and Nostrand).

Dean Street at Dean and Underhill opens as early as 8 am. Scones, muffins, coffee, nice atmosphere and pleasant staff. I don't remember that there's any music.

Most bars are dead during the day so if they have reliable wireless its a good choice. I can barely concentrate on my order at joyce let alone work.
