Need Marble Door Saddle Replaced
Hello All,
I need to have my marble door saddle replaced. Either I can be led to a marble cutter and subsequently allow my husband to install it, OR if anyone knows of a person that can expertly do this from start to finish, I will happily accept that recommendation. Please share!
Thank you in advance for any help!

If it's a standard size why not buy it from Lowes or Home Depot? If it's a custom cut or made from anything else but marble, I'd check out Foro Marble on 3rd Street between the draw-bridge/canal and Bond Street.

Tried those guys. It's not a standard size. The opening is 55 inches wide and the saddle needs to be about 2 inches thick. Thanks for the recommendation!

Check with Acme Marble, somewhere near 4th Ave and 17th St I think. They've done some stone work for us and we were very happy with the work and the prices, plus they have tons of remnants to choose from, at least they did for what we needed. They cut and installed counter tops and a fireplace surround for us.
We recently had a door saddle replaced and our contractor's crew did that as part of a bigger job, but it seemed like they did it quickly and easily (the old one was pitched so that water ran in under the door).

Love remnants =DB ! Thank you!

Check on Brownstoner. There are a couple of architectural salvage places in the city that probably have the correct size saddle from another home.

if you need them to be custom goto a shop on 61st and between 12 or 11 or 13 ave. they should make it for like less than 40-50 bucks cash.
make sure you ask for the 3/4 thickness some sells people don't realize they offer that. cause a idiot sells person(i know this idiot, a friends friend) told me they don't carry 3/4 thickness lol only the thicker ones. I was like dude. the boss came out and went yes we do
. also tell them you need them custom made not the already made ones. I'm not sure how long those go. some might go long as 4 or 5 feet for already made ones. if you don't want marble they carry fewer 3/4 thickness for granite also should cost about the same.

Thank you guys for all of the great leads. Very much appreciated!
