An espresso bar in Greenwood Heights? YES!
If you haven't found the Fig on 36th street near 5th avenue, you are missing one of the best additions to the neighborhood in years. The two story cafe has wi-fi, ample seating, and they will let you sit. So much more cozy than Starbucks. You can also get a truly great cup of coffee on your way to the subway. They have $5 pies, the best Brooklyn crusty breads, great salads, bagels and lox, Italian cookies, and thin crust pizza. Gourmet ingredients. Reminds me of a place in the East Village. There's enough room to have a large group sitting upstairs with privacy and reasonable prices too. My hope is that they will get live music on the weekends. It's the perfect setting.
