Cablevision (Optimum) really coming to PLG? — Brooklynian

Cablevision (Optimum) really coming to PLG?

I live on Midwood II. Just got off the phone with them - they claim they have a signed "access agreement" with everyone on the block and are going to begin construction to put in the cable. Hard to believe that this is happening when no one I have spoken to has heard about it.

They told me to call back in a month - their service department has it listed as "awaiting completion of construction."

Anyone know anything more about this? Would be really great to not have to rely on Verizon's terrible DSL service anymore for internet.

  • Signed access agreements? They didn't contact me about that, so I certainly haven't signed an agreement, nor would I do so if Cablevision still proposes running their wires at hand height on the backs of our houses. I haven't heard that Cablevision contacted any of our neighbors on Midwood II.

As much as I'd like cable internet instead of DSL I don't have high hopes for Cablevision on those Lefferts Manor blocks that lack telephone poles.

  • BTW we could discus this further at our January 19th block association meeting--you should haved the flyer yesterday.

  • Woops! Have received the flyer
