3 hour afternoon Party for 80 people...any great suggestions as to a venue?

Hello everyone...I'm looking to have a 3-4 hour afternoon party in March to introduce our new baby to our extended family, children, and friends (about 70-80 total). Any great suggestions for venues in our area (or slightly beyond) that might be good for this? Nothing too expensive (more like buffet and small food).

Thanks as always.

  • Sorry, meant to say that it didn't have to be a restaurant...could always get a space and then get catering. Thanks.

  • The Lyceum rents space

    Bubby's in Dumbo (restaurant)

If you don't mind the religious angle, some churches rent out hall space (just an idea)

Does Pratt college rent event space?

    The Gowanus Green Building

  • The VFW on 10th or that place on 5th ave half a block down from the Chip Shop.

  • DA NONNA ROSA cucina italiana

Has an upstairs party room. Good food, service, large space and an option for bar service. I've been there for a few events and it has always been nice.

  • Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture? I know they rent their space, but I'm not sure about a weekday.

  • After doing a similar search a few years ago, I booked ici on Dekalb for a somewhat formal affair.

    It turned out well.

...weekdays worked best for them, b/c those nights were slower.

  • You might want to ask at Bar Toto or Bar Tano. Their prices are reasonable, and they're small enough that you could have the whole place rather than just a part of a larger place.

  • Thanks for the suggestions everyone!
