Taxi company recommendation

Hello fellow Prospect Heighters,

I'm looking for a taxi company that:

1) Knows Brooklyn well enough to get me from here to LGA or JFK

2) Accepts credit cards without a crazy surcharge

3) Is reliable (ie not having to call back 5 times asking where your driver is)

I've been using New Bell, but they have been a mess lately and I'm looking to try something new. Any recommendations?

For airport trips, I always use Legends. They are professional and very reliable.

For other quick trips, Evelyn or Arecibo are good choices. Not perfect. But good.

If you're going to JFK, unless its really early or late I'd suggest LIRR at Atlantic Avenue to Airtrain. All total its about 25-30 minutes depending on what terminal you are going to and the LIRR actually runs fairly on time.

I've used Arecibo and Eastern in the past to both airports and even Newark. they've been good and usually showed up early. I just call the day before.

I'll second the AirTrain recommendation to JFK. The only caveat is that if you connect via the LIRR trains from Jamaica going to Atlantic Center are much less frequent than the ones to Penn Station. You can also use the A train. If you have just a few bags it really is the way to go.

I like Family Taxi, but also use Evelyn, Legend, and Arecibo.

We use Legend. It is very convenient, reliable and professional. It is also very expensive, at about $50 to JFK.

Monaco on Washington goes to LGA for 28, which is the cheapest I've seen, and I've always found them to be timely and professional.
