wow someone is really shitty on CL — Brooklynian

wow someone is really shitty on CL

I got zero calls for my ad on CL for my apt listing posted last week, went to renew the ad today. notice it was flagged!! bastards. why would someone do that for?

Comments

  • they were listing a more expensive apartment nearby.

  • you might be right bastards, shouldn't the markets handle this instead of playing dirty? Plus i hate realtors. can't deal with them at all. never on time and they charge tenants money :p. makes no sense in the age of the internet.

  • It actually takes more than one or two people to flag an ad on CL. You can bring it up on the flag forum if you have questions as to why it was flagged.

Personal reasons I flag apt. ads are in this order: Incorrect location listed, too many repeated postings, and when I suspect there are tons of fees/really being shown by a realtor instead of owner. I'll also flag if the price listed in the header is different than the one listed in the posting. I'll also flag if it has pictures and then in the very bottom says "pictures are not of apartment for rent".

Frankly, realtors are very often bastards who ruin it for everyone. Do you want to post what you wrote and we can guess why it was flagged?

renovated small kitchen and living room.

    2 renovated bathrooms.

4 okay size bedrooms with closets and windows in each room.

    refinished hardwood throughout

    laundry in basement.

you'll pay electric. rent is first and security.

the credit / background check of $40 is refunded if you rent the apt.

please call me at 347 828 6666. no brokers please. mention the greenpoint 2nd floor. I'm renting out other places and rooms.

    many directions to the house:

Take the L train to the lorimer st station(second stop in brookyn) and make sure you are on the side that's going towards greenpoint, instead of going towards bed stuy. take B48 and get off at van dam st. you should be on nassau ave, next to van dam st.

Also from the L train lorimer st station or the next stop at graham ave station(3rd stop in brooklyn) you can take the B 24 and get off on the other side of the highway near kosciusko bridge. if you are no familiar with the area yet. I suggest you avoid this route.

take the 7 train get off at vernon blvd-jackson ave station (first stop in queens) take B 62 outside of vernon blvd-jackson ave station and get off at Nassau ave and take B 48 to van dam st. or from the 7 train vernon blvd-jackson ave station stop you could walk to G train (3 or 4 blocks) and take G train to Nassau ave, take the B 48 to van dam st.

Take the 7 train to 46th st station in queens. take the B 24 thats going to williamsburg direction not greenpoint direction (it does a loop from greenpoint(other side) to long island city back towards greenpoint(next to house) to williamsburg). get off at the kosciusko bridge on the brooklyn side. you should be on the right side of the highway and next to van dam st on meeker ave.

house is between meeker ave and nassau ave on van dam st.

It's on the second floor of a house.

it has a small living room and kitchen, with all new stainless steel appliances : oven, fridge, dish washer.

I don't have the measurements for the bedrooms, but large enough to fit queen sizes. all of them have windows and closet and over head storage.

free use of laundry on the groundfloor which is shared.

you pay electricity. First month rent 2800 and security 2800 is required to rent. I welcome shares because a 4 bedroom is harder to rent out.

the credit / background check of $40

in the picture its actually two similar bathroom pics. one with shower and one with tub.

please call me at 347 828 6666. no brokers please. If you're not familiar with greenpoint I'll give you directions.

  • The shorter version is a lot easier to read. Also not mentioning you're showing other places makes it seem more believable that you're an owner and not a shady realtor. You might be getting into trouble for mentioning it's good for shares. That might be against the Terms of Use since it sounds like if shares are welcome, a family would not be, which, as we all know, is illegal to say. (But people do anyway). If you don't mind I might put it this way:

Large apartment available on second floor of house. Rooms are: living room, kitchen, four queen sized bedrooms and two bathrooms. The kitchen has been outfitted with brand new stainless steel appliances including the oven, fridge, and even a dishwasher. The bedrooms all have windows, closets, and overhead storage.

Free use of shared Laundry on ground floor. Landlord pays for heat and hot water and tenant pays for electricity.

One month rent ($2800) and security ($2800) is due upon lease signing. (Total of $5,600)

Please call me at 347 828 6666. No brokers please. If you're not familiar with greenpoint I'll give you directions.

  • It sounds like a great place. I've heard you're also a great landlord. Do you always list on here when you have an opening? I'm due to probably have to look for a 2 bedroom in a year or two and am loath to take the great landlord/management risk.

  • thanks for the suggestions :p gonna use it on my next ad when ad expires. I always post on Brooklynian first and before that let tenants know first. last choice would be CL, majority of my tenants are from their friends these days :p.

  • :( so far i got 1.5 railroad cover, 3 bedrooms cover and 4 bedrooms cover no 2 bedrooms.

  • only reason I mention other places is once along time ago, i confuse one of the places with another place and told potential tenants no such place for rent than realize lol, i was helping a tenant rent out a spare room.

  • I welcome families :p I have no ideas shares are discriminatory. i thought it meant people who get roommates LOL.
