North Central Slope Apartments with FIOS

Hi all,

The wife and I are looking to move to Park Slope after seven years in Manhattan. I have a startup and work from home, and thus am very curious as to which buildings/streets/parts-of-the-neighborhood are wired for FIOS.

We've just begun our search, but the thinking is we'll want to be in the north or central sections of Park Slope due to the wife's commute needs -- i.e. walking distance from 7th Ave or Atlantic Ave stations.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

  • On Second Street between 6th and 7th Avenue we cannot yet get Fios.

I operate my law practice from home, using 30 mbps internet from Time Warner Cable/Roadrunner. If I were willing to spend another $50 per month, I could bump that up to 50 mbps... but I don't need the extra speed.

TWC also offers what they call Signature Home service, in which they promise to get a repair guy to your home within an hour or so after you call them to report a problem. The service is something like $200 per month (it includes whole home Cable TV, 50 mbps internet, and phone service) and requires that you have at least two TV sets in the home.

It's not FIOS, but with such speeds and speedy response time, you should be able to run your startup just fine.

    Good luck!

  • My building in center park slope cannot get Fios at this time.
