New Barbershop for Classon — Brooklynian

New Barbershop for Classon

Comments

  • So that's two offices and a barbershop for that building? Inspired use of the sunny, tall-ceilinged spaces, eh?

  • The landlord wouldn't rent to tenants who were going to serve food or alcohol, so the types of suitable businesses were limited.

That said, the chairs are being installed today.

    It is looking nice.

What would you like in the other storefronts at Lincoln and Classon?

  • BTW, the "two offices" you see are actually the property manager's staff.

So far, the barbershop is the first real commercial tenant.

  • I wonder if the barber shop will be less segregated than some of the other local offerings.

  • They'd have to convey the message that they are good with all types of hair.

The Three Brothers Dominican barbershop on Washington manages to do so, and attracts a pretty diverse crowd.

If the new place has ok prices, and short lines, I might switch from 3 Brothers to them.

  • It is now open.

  • this pictured wasn't labeled by my source, but I assume the photo is of the owner, Benny:

  • These are the same folks behind the Benny's Barber Shop on 5th Ave in northern Park Slope (around St John's/Lincoln, next to Bogota).

Good dudes, been schlepping over there for years. Glad to have them close by.

  • Got a cut there just now. Mike was very precise and efficient (though my haircut is pretty simple). I was out of there in 15 minutes a satisfied customer, and definitely plan to return regularly.

They have a loyalty perk where every 11th cut is free.

  • Eastbloc you should consider giving them a positive shout out on Yelp. I'm sure the biz owners would appreciate it.

  • The offices occupied by the realtor now advertise the exact space they are in as being available.

    Success means having to move.

  • 11K Barbershop Break-In

A break in at a Classon Avenue hair salon led to a take of $11,250 worth of cash and electronics.

A livery cab driver told cops that he was parked on Classon Avenue near Lincoln Place just before 4 a.m. on Monday, June 18, when he heard glass break and then saw a man with a large duffel bag come out of the Benny's Barbershop, 841 Classon, and run off.

Included in the take was cash, a Bose audio system, and a cash register.

The shop had just opened a few months ago.

I suspect he will soon install one of those pull-down gates.

  • I am pleased to report that all of the new storefronts at Lincoln and Classon now appear to be rented!

Granted, one of them is rented by a politician who will likely close their office if they lose in the primary and I suspect Nouvelle Vague is not long for this world....

...but the corner office is now home to a snazzy antique type place.
