    Yes.

    It reminded me of the "game" in which local youth shoot guns into the air, then walk away. They seem to do it -in part- to watch the police response. It is disturbing to know that there are youth out there that will engage in such reckless activities.

    They not only endanger their own lives, but those of others. Imagine being the train operator that drives the train that kills a youth playing such a game....

    Or, the responding cop who kills the youth playing with a gun....

    This is a failure to understand the consequences of one's actions, in combination with a low regard for their lives, and the lives of others.

    I never understood the fascination with people playing "chicken" with trains. If you recall, a scene of this was done in the movie Footloose with Kevin Bacon and Lori Singer. It seemed to glorify the stupidity of kids with too much time on their hands and nothing constructive to do. Hopefully one of these clowns won't fall on the tracks and get electrocuted by the third rail.

    A friend said it's like the '80s all over again. Except when I was a kid we had SPECDA (like D.A.R.E.) in the classrooms showing us the videos of what happens when you go train surfing. These kids, like you said, seem to have no clue about how many things can go wrong once you start playing with trains (or guns) and no care about how it could affect others.
