The Great Black Dane

sorry to hear. i hope your pug is okay.

There's female, black, Great Dane, name of "George" that lives on 2nd Street - have had to keep my Pekes away 'cause see growls and acts agressive around them.
-
There are a few black great danes in the area. I've only met one, Luna, and she's a sweetheart, but I think that I know which one you're talking about - male? Maybe a little older? I think that anytime the owner has seen my dog and I coming, she's pulled him out in to the street, so maybe yours isn't an isolated incident... it's hard to say, though - I have a pitbull, so it's never clear whether people are pulling their dogs out of my way because they're aggressive or if it's because they think that mine is aggressive...

Subject: Yup, that’s right.
Unfortunately, my Pug and “Bro†Great Dane were walked by dog walkers, who didn’t understand the danger. Typically, the Great Dane is walked by the old lady and/or dreadlock kid.
My advice is if you see a black Great Dane not being walked by the old lady and/or dreadlock kid get out of the way. The dog is CRAZY. -

Piece of trivia: the Danish name for "Great Dane" is "Grand Danois" which is French for "Great Dane". But in France it's called "Dogue Allemand" which is "German Mastiff" and in German it's the similar "Deutsche Dogge". No one really knows where it comes from. You don't find many Great Danes in Denmark; the English name might hark back to tall viking invaders. -
Does this fall under canine profiling?

A little off topic but I was kissed by Rick Rude in the Madison Square Garden ring

A little off topic?!?!

It's not a total non-sequitor, since the thread was started by someone calling himself Rick Rude. -

Not totally, but it what does it have to with a large, overly aggressive dog?!
And don't forget "Ravishing."

Wait - they were being walked together? And this happened on the dogwalker's watch? -
I heard about the attack - Both dogs were being walked seperatly by two different walkers. The one waling the Pug is a friend of the owners and was just walking him while they were away. The other one is a paid walker who was waling the Dane while the owners are out of the Country. Apparently both were crossing the intersection at Vanderbilt and Prospect when without any warning the Dane lunged for the Pug and picked him up with his teeth and wouldn't let him go until the friend (walker) of the Pug started hitting the Dane on the head - while the other walker didn't know what the hell to do. I guess the guy at the MET - Zee? The one who always says, "Hi, how are you today?" at the door - heard the whole thing. He said it sounded awful and he heard a lot of screaming. The damage could have been a lot worse to the Pug - he's being watched because one of his wounds was infected, but as far as I know he'll be okay. But, I don't know how I feel about the Great Dane lunging without any sort of provocation at other animals - I don't really think anything can be done either? I'm not an expert in the area so I'm not sure but... it just seems unfair for the rest of us who have to walk our dogs in the same neighborhood to be vulnerable to such a thing. I don't know, I just felt sooo bad for the little Pug - he's so sweet!

I really appreciated that heights249. My pug was severely hurt by "BRO" but his wounds are slowly healing.
I take him outside for bathroom breaks, and he's getting used to being outside but he still shakes a lot.
Howdy, Stranger!
