Bed Stuy Farmer's Market — Brooklynian

Bed Stuy Farmer's Market

Subject: Bed Stuy Farmer's Market

Just wanted to let those who may not know. Bed Stuy has a Farmer's Market Saturday AM on Lewis Ave in across from Brownstone Books/Breadstuy etc. This used to be on Fulton by the park but the new location has brought more produce.
Stopped by this AM and they have 3 stalls, it's not challenging Grand Army Plaza yet but they have a good selection and are very friendly/

People of Bed Stuy please support this initiative, come out Saturday to buy your vegetables!

thx

  • Coming soon to East New York - which has no board of it's own - a Food Coop. The Park Slope Food Coop has been consulting, and some PSFC members are doing shifts to help get the place up and running.

    wow! that's awesome!
  • All year round?

It sounds like a great start.
  • Is the farmer's market year-round?
  • The market is indeed getting better. I was there last weekend and in addition to the produce one of the tables was selling fresh apple cider and baguettes! I think it's great that vendors are taking a chance and trying new things. Hopefully next year will get even better. I believe the market continues through November.
  • I was also there last weekend, and one of the vendors said they would be there year round! They were selling produce in addition to nice potted mums.
