Kimcheelicious Tasting @ Freddy's Bar

This series of tastings promote Kimcheelicious, a (pending) Kickstarter cookbook project by Tony Limuaco. This project focuses on making vegan kimchi and exploring the many meals you can make with it.

ON THE MENU:

- Bulgogi mandu (potstickers)

- Black bean and red miso mandu

- Sweet potato and white kimchi fritters

- Pink coleslaw made with ruby cabbage and non-spicy white kimchi.

- Three types of vegan kimchi (napa, cucumber, white radish)

KIMCHI MAKING DEMONSTRATION @ 7:00 PM

Learn how to make vegan Napa cabbage kimchi (baechu) and Korean chili paste (gochuchang). The demonstration batch will be raffled.

  • In case you were wondering what 100 kimchi/bulgogi dumpligs look like... these bad boys will be steam finished at Freddy's Bar (from 6 to 8PM), it's just down teh block from you. I highly recommend ordering some Tater Tots and topping it with kimchi.

  • These deep fried sweet potato and white kimchi fritters are terrible... terribly good. I guess I should stop eating them and leave some for you.

  • These black bean and red miso dumplings were lightly poached... in hot oil. If I told you these vegan things were gross, I'd be a liar.

    Thanks for making out folks, congratulations to raffle winners Eva (Napa cabbage kimchi) and Marcus (Korean chili paste). Hope you all enjoyed the kimchi demo, next time I'll remember to bring the blender.
