you only need a basic reading and writing to commit fraud. don't need college. which is free and nyc government provides the same funding to a poor area vs a rich area.
in poor areas they might even provide extra help for those kids who are behind. liberals been throwing money at the poor problem for a long time. isn't about race its about culture.
They made fun of guys like me back in school, these kids grew up with English. This is my second language.
My parents as peasants didn't even have a education.
They would disrupt the class with fights, steal etc... because it is not cool to learn.

You did not read what I wrote.
1) If you look at suburbs, the school income is partly funded by LOCAL tax, so of course the amounts generated in richer areas would be more than what is generated in poorer areas. Just see the difference in Long Island schools.
2) If you read the links, provided you will notice that a growing trend among the urban wealthy is to PRIVATELY subside their school activities, thereby providing and advantage that cannot be overcome unless poor schools receive similar private funding of activities.
3)The problem you are talking about when you refer to teachers being afraid of the students is :an attribution bias where the same behavior by a same race child will probably be viewed differently
This is a documented psychological phenomenon, and is the reason why your women are soo loved by White guys. Due to their history of being perceived as ultra docile and feminine, their aggressive behvaior is not viewed as threatening the same way as the aggressiveness of a black woman would be viewed. See tiger mom versus ghetto mom, which one is less abusive? Or yells at their children and belittles them less?This bias also creates an infinite feedback loop. You tell me from birth that based on my phenotype I am an aggressive, loud, and obnoxious person, I can do one of two things: embrace it out of helplessness, or become so self hating and pre-occupied with it that I become a caricature of everything that is "not black" (Clarence Thomas). See similar findings with Asian women who prefer white men.
What I am saying here is that it is a HARDER fight for a black person to "assimilate" than it is for and "Asian" to assimilate, due in part to our past racial history in the USA. So therefore, you were encouraged, where as Jebron might not have been. Worse yet, Your parents had an easier time moving into a neighborhood with good schools even if they were the poorest people on the block, than mine would have. I have a friend with a child, who moved her kid into a Bayside neighborhood, to take advantage of the "good schools" because her kid is black, he was singled out maliciously by other students, and began to under perform because of the teasing, and the indifference of teachers who didn't see him as "one of their own" due to his blackness and their whiteness.
To make point 3 even more salient I will bring up your own dating history. I am sure you are a great guy, but you are Asian, and with it comes all the stereotypes, ie attribution biases that come with "Asian maleness". This probably explains a significant portion of your dating "troubles" even among your own women. Black women face similar issues.
When I walk down the street, no one even wants to come up to me or is willing to believe that I don't have any kids, am a college professor and clinician, based on my phenotype.

Education and culture is very important and poor communities in America should take self responsibility after some time. Can't blame the man forever.
It's easier to blame the other guys for the problems of the community than actually looking at the problems. Like having kids outside of families. education is for white people and uncle toms etc....
I'm sure the rural poor probably blame foreigners for their problems.

A lot of arguments on what is the cause of the problems etc... is just educated nonsense could argue till the oceans gone dry.
To me only thing that should matter is actions. Most of the time so called politicians are just hustling for votes and do nothing for their communities.
stop and frisk one of the most hated things in nyc. yet biggest complaints of crime comes from the same communities they need more policing.
You can't tie the hands of the police, stop and frisk is stupid but it does show they are on the streets etc.... to show hey we are out here don't mess with us, like results or not that is a different story.
The police is the hammer you get blunt results. if they want soft results start with the family, brain wash/ educate them to not to have kids outside of family.
they could use welfare and food stamps as a incentive maybe some honest day work of picking up street garbage and going to a few hours of brainwashing on basics. you get the idea. there are better softer ways.

I agree that others do have impact.
But no body is stopping those kids in get themselves a education.
Long story short, I mostly taught ourselves reading and writing etc.
They should change the law. schools should be a privilege. Some kids who don't want to go to school and cause trouble, they should have something else for them. instead these kids are forcing their hatred of a education on the rest of the school population.
Well you could tell i can't grammar for life lol. I am mostly self taught.

When I was doing the stupid van thing, I got treated horribly by some asian/asian american women(high enough percentage). they think i'm some slave etc.. ordering me around. I take it with a smile.
I might have to deal with them and their white husbands etc.. But I never accepted their jobs again. they would call back etc..
One actually accused me of taking her ID once. I told her please pack all your things and don't leave anything in the draws, desk etc.. She left everything in her furniture. before the furniture transport.
Things get bump around and it moves around etc.. things drop out of draws. After talking to me she found it in the back of the desk some where.
She was a piece of work.....I might be a working class guy but she had no class at all.
People treat me nice, I'll go out of the way to help them.
It is also good motivation to go work harder and make something out of myself. they might live in fancy places renting with their bf/husbands now. One day they'll be renting from me or their kids will lol.

...but I disagree with your belief in an equal opportunity education and "parent led learning" system in the US. We have made slow progress, but are no where near that benchmark.
It seems Psycho-ologist wants me to weigh in on what a typical psychologist looks like. Those who work for nonprofit agencies and institutions tend to have some more variety, but the overall trends and appearances are pretty constant.

Now poor Latinos from Puerto Rico and the DR, as well as poor Blacks are culturally integrated in the USA. They fit in with you and me and can pass along more "anonymously", so they ARE more likely to target you and me as "regular New Yorkers".
Now qualitatively that is also very different than poor Whites who tend to live in very rural and spread out areas, so their crimes are also not as "in your face". For an example, a meth addict in middle America will probably rob an empty house and get away by car, rather than mug a person on the streets. Those White poor live in the suburbs so mugging just isn't very lucrative to them.
Just notice how Columbine and Aurora type phenomenon don't happen in urban places because the difficulty in obtaining weapons in urban areas.
The type of crime many of these Hasidim perpetrate is qualitatively different and is often only reported to their own "authority" figures. I have a psychologist friend who works in this community, and can tell you that there is a MASSIVE amount of credit card, medicaid, welfare, housing and insurance fraud. Why because these things require very little face to face interaction and can be done by someone who looks very different from the American populous.
PS: crime is often committed same race on same race, due to the likelihood of living "amongst" your own, and being able to fade into the populous of "your own" as you try to flee capture.
I used that philosophy effectively, and chose to live in Latino neighborhoods, due in part to the fact that I love my brown people, but I know that since there is a huge cultural and language divide, I won't be targeted nearly as often, with cat calls etc. I have proven myself right anecdotally.
I also believe this is why when White folks get mugged or hurt by Black/Latino's its front page news, but every sad little Black woman/man who is ever assaulted/raped/mugged etc, doesn't even make a blurb next to the obituaries, because its so common.

Don't do it.
Take it from someone who made that mistake. The neighborhood is a jewel and you will never see it until you have left. The burbs are evil and rural America comes with a deathlike quiet and a frightening backwoods lack of intelligence that is simply hard to convey.
Leave the neighborhood? At your own risk my friends. At your own risk.
You never leave your neighborhood unless you clearly see a path forward for a better life and you choose it as a plan to make you happy as opposed to a permanent solution to a temporary problem.
I did learn something in the discussion. If indeed it is true that the volume of the music is designed to in essence say to the world, Hey, in your face, I believe that this can be overcome as well because I suspect that many people from a host of different backgrounds are opposed to this level of music and this type of attitude.

There is a documentary called "In Satmar Custody" that deals with the Satmar's enticing a Yemeni couple to the States, then removing their children and giving them to other families after the death of a child. While the documentary doesn't outright claim fraud, the people in it speak freely about the numbers of Satmar that receive public assistance so the men can attend yeshivas. There is also a pretty frank discussion about children being re-located from families that have fallen out of favor with religious leaders to other Satmar families and the fact that the State (in this case it was NY) pays those people to serve as foster families.
While it may not be something that happens among every Hassidic sect, use (and some might say abuse) of the social service network is definitely encouraged by some sects.

If you are a kid whose parents cannot afford to move out of a district where the quality of education is sub par, this could mean a lot of things
- teachers might not recognize an easily curable learning disability
- teachers might not recognize a kid coming from a troubled home
- teachers can't reach every kid because classes are too big
- kids dont have enough materials or up to date materials to learn from
- curriculum is severely limited- i.e. no arts programs, no advanced programs, nothing but the bare minimumYou can get on that bootstrap garbage, but these are kids, not adults- in most cases they really DON'T know better, which is why there are laws to protect them and free public schools that are SUPPOSED to educate them.
I dont think its on society to ensure kids have the same opportunities stemming from parents, but kids should all definitely have unfettered access to the same quality of free public education... but right now, they don't, which goes a long way in creating the self-fulfilling inner city environment. Not to say the community or parents don't have a role either, but to completely ignore the quality of schools is asinine

Also, Armchair if I had to bet, I'd guess that your parents were fully functioning adults when you were born and that your mother and father spent a lot of time working to make your life bearable. Contrast that with some of these kids who at age 5-6 are being parented by 18-19 year olds who haven't yet figured out for themselves how to make it in the world and you see why the "pull yourself up by your own bootstraps" thing may be difficult for some people.

Re: the original question about neighborhood noise, I have been assured by a sage individual on this board that blasting music, including late in the evenings on work or school nights, without regard for your neighbors is cultural and that we must simply accept it. This is especially true if you are white or have lived in the neighborhood for less than 25 years. So, kindly stop whining and keep your ethnocentric complaints to yourself.
