Here I am! Rock You Like A Hurricane!

The news was talking about the flood zones, like some areas of Red Hook, and a vision of the Gowanus overflowing with sewage came to mind (unfortunately, i think the stadium is on higher ground :P )
-
Gowanus smells nasty during the summer, I wouldn't want to be near it during the flood. and The water has STDs.
-
This graphic needs a little updating, but it has the right idea:

Actual graphic from NYC Dept of Emergency Mgt, as of 10:50 PM, Oct 27, 2012:

I want o "like" Mamacita's post. pare everyone and every ting else in the borough and destroy that rusted mess we are supposed to embrace as a stadium.
-
So Associated market is a freaking hot mess. Lines all the way to the back of the store. OMG, I got the hell otta there. I think people are freaking out unnecessarily. (famous last words)
-
The Key Food at Washington and EP is doing a brisk business.

Those of you who do not believe in weather forecasts should trust my dog.
My dog only follows me around the house when extreme weather is about to happen, or is happening.
....my dog is following me around the house.
-
Whynot, I'm far more inclined to believe your dog then the average forecaster. Do keep us updated on Dude's predictions?
Yesterday happened to be the day of the month that I get a bunch of groceries. I went to Compare because I like the wide aisles and cleanliness and I was amazed by how many people there were. All the carts were in use. But everyone was still really pleasant and mostly there were a lot of people buying beer and basics. There was no Hint'O'Panic then. Everyone was very civilized and shelves were stocked.
-
We just stopped by the grocery store on 5th Ave near 7th/8th Sts (crazy I know, but we've been out of town and I *need* bananas always on hand) and they were running things pretty well. We were just getting a few odd things like bananas and cream for coffee so I don't know about supply, but they had all registers going and the long line was moving really fast.
-
I'm too tired to go and buy anything or do anything besides the basic clean up of the yard to make sure no flying missiles.

In light of the Katrina Superdome fiasco, I wish to go on record to state that I am not (under any circumstances) willing to evacuate to the new Barclays arena.

Also humans aka long porks taste like pork.

I think this storm gives us a unique chance to identify the least popular grocery items available in the neighborhood. Judging by the 4 places I just visited "pocketless pita" is by far the least popular bread product out there. I mean places were out of hot dog buns and flush with pocketless pita...
-
I saw a guy buying a economy jar of cheeze whiz and a brick of velveeta.
-
So wondering who dubbed in Travolta's voice in this///// can't be him singing? Right?
Stay safe everyone
-
I would have to be really hungry to consume that much fake cheese. gag.
There are so many sirens. What could possibly be happening so soon or is it just coincidence?
-
Tate-
Many people are maintained at home by home health aids, and they are being moved to nursing homes or hospitals as a precaution because their aids won't be able to get to them tomorrow.Likewise, many seniors are afraid that they won't be ok without an aid (even though they would be....) and are asking to spend the storm in a nursing home or hospital.
Many of the sirens you see are from contracted ambulances, like Senior Care. ...Very few are from 911 responders.

My cats are acting ultra affectionate! I agree with Why_Not. This one may actually be bad!
The supermarkets in my nabe were fresh out of most snacks. No Lays? #-o I must live around a whole bunch of lard asses, myself included.

aluminum pans - Did I say I hated hot food

Excellent choices!
For those using my dog as a predictor of the storm's intensity, I submit the following photo:

Your interpretations are welcome.

Some are scared

-
Taping windows is useless right? Some of my windows are really shaking hard. My upstairs neighbor taped his window and then left his poorly supported air conditioner in. Seems a bit backwards.

true, true.

My cats are freaking out, and I just got a robo-call from Con Ed saying that I may lose my power. Already the lights have dimmed significantly and are flickering...Oh NOES.. no more internet, no more porn, no more Gawker, Brooklynian or Gothamist. What is a Psycho-ologist to do? Maybe I can play my harp by candle light :-({|=
