    You're right Warren...breezy, sea gate, coney island and a few other places here in brooklyn were almost destroyed. Its very very sad all the devastation. My husband's co-worker lost his 2yr and 4yr on staten island. They wife was seeking help on her way to brooklyn and as she left the car with the 2 children they were ripped from her arms in the fast moving water. So so very sad.

    Hope all our friends here are ok.

    Hi Deb,

    First let me tell you that Carol heard on the TV that they found the bodies of those two little children. I do not know if there are words that could ever comfort that family. I pray for their sadness. I pray for there feelings. I pray for their sanity. The loss of material things is one thing. But to lose two children to this horrible storm is beyond my comprehension. Years ago Carol and I had a still born baby. I did not think at the time that anything could be worse. This terrible tragedy is much worse!

    I do not know if there is a way to get in touch with Terry to find out if she and Mike and their families are okay. If someone on here can do so. Please post. [-oB

    Hi Everybody,

    Thank God it has passed.....I got lucky just no power, heat or water for three days, but compared to others who lost everything I am very thankful....My heart goes out to those who lost lives, homes and everything they owed.

    My power came on early this morning and then I got a call that my job had gotten there power back, so I am now at work.

    I did see Terry on facebook so pretty sure she and Mike are ok.

    Hi all...

    Warren...so sorry to hear about that. My sister died at 28 years old and my parents were never the same. Such heartache.

    Judy....glad you're ok :)

    Anna.....I heard about the Nor'easter...just what we need, more wind and rain :(

    Patsy....it's been a crazy week...I can't believe the kids were off all week. I just feel bad for those that are in the schools for shelter, what will they do when school re-opens monday??

    I had to cancel Kevin's 50th birthday party for tomorrow. Kevin has been working 12 hr shifts since last Sunday and he'll be working tomorrow, which was supposed to be his day off. I can always reschedule...just so glad we are all safe.

    I also heard they cancelled the marathon. I think its for the best.

    Sometimes I feel that some things go right over my head without impact. Other times things occur that sink in and disturb me to a great extent.     I watched all the news about the storm on TV or online. While saddened to see so much pain, tragedy, and destruction, I am heartened by the strength and good character shown by the good people of NY/NJ in coping with this bad news. Each of you will emerge as even stronger and better people because of this experience.

    While I moved out of Brooklyn so many years ago, my heart remains there with each of you.

    I know. I said I would not be on for awhile. I just wanted to clear some things up. I appreciate the concern some of you have shown. Let me reassure you that Carol & I are no better or worse health wise then when I decided to retire from the blog for at least a short time. It has to do with something on the blog itself or should I say not on. I will continue to monitor the blog and when I feel it is appropriate will be back. :-#

    TONIANN'S PICTURES ARE NOT FOR ANOTHER 2 WEEKS.

    NOT SURE ABOUT RE-SCHEDULE. KEVIN NEEDS TO ASK AT

    SCHOOL. THEY SHOULD SEND A NOTICE OUT WITH NEW DATE FOR PICTURES.

    Patsy....Kevin said I should call so I'll do that Monday and see what they say about a re-take day. Still trying to reschedule Kevin's 50th. Looks like I'm going to have to wait til thanksgiving weekend because he's been working so much.
