Psychiatrist who can prescribe meds

I could use a recommendation for a psychiatrist in Brooklyn who can prescribe meds. My insurance is GHI/Emblem.

Posted this previously looking for a psychopharmacologist, but a psychiatrist can write prescriptions too and seems easier to find.

Nothing complicated, just want to have things re-evaluated after taking the same antidepressant for years...

    I think LICH has a clinic where, after an initial eval with a psychiatrist, you see a psychiatric nurse-practitioner for medication management every so often.

    Why don't you go through the GHI/Emblem site and find

    doctors that are in the area you want to stay within who are covered by your plan, then throw out some names on the board to see if anyone has experience with them.

    I will tell you from experience with my sons' ADHD management there are very few psychiatrists that seem to accept insurance, and if they do, the waits for appointments are very long. I eventually went back to his neurologist who did not accept any insurance at all and she did his medication reviews and renewals.
