Indoor Monthly Parking Rates in/near PH?

Hi all! This is my first post :)

What's the monthly parking rate for an indoor, designated parking spot at a garage in or close to Prospect Heights? I also have a motorcycle and would be curious what indoor bike parking is as well.

Thanks!

  • Welcome. For a car, I would predict it is about $350 a month in a commercial garage.

..for a motorcycle, you might be able to get a space for $150 in a private garage for the winter.

    P.S. Welcome to Brooklynian!

  • Thanks for the warm welcome, WhyNot!

NooB question, but what's the difference in cost/pros/cons of a commercial garage vs. a private one?

  • A private garage arrangement is often obtained via craigslist, or other less than formal means.

    It is a relationship.....

A commercial relationship is a legal contract. You sign something with letterhead, that is registered with the Dept of Consumer Affair or some such legal entity.

  • Thank you for the clarification, WhyNot. Didn't realize that the commercial garages actually require a contract (but it makes a bunch of sense).

    Much obliged!

  • I've had my car in a commercial garage for nearly 20 years. Never signed a contract.

The garage is in Center Slope, and I pay $267.41 per month, including all taxes.

  • the one on underhill between prospect and st marks is about $250/month for a car. don't know what the price is for a motorcycle.

  • I've had a space at the Park Right garage on St. John's between Classon and Franklin for a year and a half. It's $200 flat per month, and the staff is incredibly nice, especially Floyd and Jonas.

  • Aww man. I've been parking at the one on St. John's for over 7 years and I'm paying $269. How'd you get that deal? =DB But I agree with dougallcurrie, those guys are great.

  • If your car is reasonably compact, you might be able to get away with stashing your bike and your car in the same spot. Depends on the garage.
