Franklin Roadhouse?

They've been packed for the past couple of nights- the hurricane plus Halloween has created this insane never-ending weekend vibe around here. Crown Inn was packed to the gills.
I've never seen so much foot traffic on Franklin before- It seems like Franklin is becoming a destination location.

We went tonight, it was quite yummy and full of people.
I'd put it equal in quality, price and service to Bar Corvo, or The Vanderbilt.
...we will be back.
-
Update: This place is full everytime I walk by during the evening hours.
My conclusion is not only do others believe that it is good food and service, but that more restaurants of this quality will be supported by the neighborhood if (and when) they open.

I've noticed that a lot of the people I tend to meet out on Franklin Ave hail from much deeper in Crown Heights than they used to a year or two ago.
I think Franklin Ave has definitively arrived as a destination.

I would agree with that, eastbloc. I'm over by Kingston and instead of looking for restaurants in Fort Greene or Bed-Stuy, I can now just pop over to Franklin. It's like what Dekalb used to be to me back in the day -- a reliably good strip with lots of choices.

The first entity to open a sit down, table service, somewhat fancy restaurant on Nostrand will do well.
Crow Hill Bistro was the last to try it, and failed, but area is now ready.

Anyone wanna pool some money together and get this thing going?

We can firm up our plans at Festivus: http://www.brooklynian.com/forums/topic/the-8th-annual-brooklynian-festivus-friday-dec-21-2012
About 10 people have already told me they will show up. ...hopefully one of them needs a place to invest $200k.

Ate here last night finally and really enjoyed it. A bit more expensive than other fare on the ave but delicious nonetheless. Had smoked eggplant with potatoes and squash, Brussel sprouts, lady had orecchiette with pesto and pine nuts, and a friend had the BLT with fries.
My lady and I both felt hungry after our meal since the portion size wasnt huge, so we ordered dessert (much to the delight and intentions of the owners I'm sure). Overall would definitely go back but probably not at the rate that I frequent Chavela's or Barboncino , just coming down to $$$.

echo the positive reviews. was a nice little dinner. and finished with a cocktail at tooker alley.

Since no one's said it here yet, the pork chop saltimboca (mentioned in the Brooklyn Based piece) is indeed amazing!

Should Mayfield maybe have its own thread? Hasn't it outgrown its reputation as the place that took over the Roadhouse? We must be giving the Franklin Roadhouse too much credit.
-
If you think that's a good idea, go for it. I'll post my quasi-news updates on it instead.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am pleased to present the new thread for the now established Mayfield Restaurant:
