GOOD MORNING, FRIENDS

HOPE EVERYONE HAS A HAPPY & HEALTY MERRY CHRISTMAS.
ENJOY!!! :santa: -
Christmas Eve already. It seemed so far off awhile back but here it is right on top of us. Merry Christmas to you all. That goes for Blog posters, administrators, and those who just follow along without postimg!
Christmas Eve was special in 12th Street Church. The memories flow. We had a cndlelight service which always contained a soprano singing "Oh Holy Night". Several different soloists sang it but none better Emma Brown who got married and became Emma Zymjewski (sp). There are a few people on this blog who know exactly who I am talking about.
So get ready for Church, get ready to rip open the presents and be sure to thank God for the birth of his son. :santa: :rendeer:

Hi all.....
Hope everyone's Christmas was great!!!
Looks like it's starting to snow out....wonder what this will bring us

Tis the day after Christmas & all through the house, there is plenty of stirring but I hope not a mouse. The stockings are empty no longer stuffed with small gifts, St Nick has already been here so we are not watching for him.
Had a weird incident Christmas eve. We lost power and so did a good portion of Sun City Center. The electric company said 5000 homes were affected. We tried to go to Church but their power(Presbyterian) along with the Lutheren,Catholic,Methodist & Baptist Churches had no power. We drove to our church and had to come back. Even some of the Traffic Lights were out. Fortuneatly the County Police came and directed traffic until the power came back. It is the first time that I can remember in my long lifetime that I missed Church on Christmas Eve. We watched a great Christmas service on TV from the Mormon Tabernacle so I guess that should count.
Okay you slaves. It is back to work for you. We retired old goats can rest a few days since we went to the last scheduled Christmas party this afternoon. Planning a quiet New Years Eve (Not my wish) so I guess our celebrating is finished for this year. The only thing scheduled for next week is an appointment with an Endocrinologist and of course to the bank on pay day. :-({|=

Hello-sounds like everyone had a great Christmas..I went back to work yesterday but I'm taking the weekend off to use my gift cards..saw an inch of snow today (1st time this season) & may have some more overnight...sleeping in tomorrow, going to the mall & relax on Sunday..New Year's Day going to my GF's house for lunch & games..Warren-Yikes-is that what I have to watch out for when I move to Florida? LOL..I wish all of u a very Happy & Prosperous New Year...talk to us soon.......bye
-
That Gator lives in the pond across the street from our house. As long as he does not threaten people he will be left alone. It would be wise for people who have visitors with small children or pets to be very aware of his presence. Gators are a part of the Florida landscape. We co-habitat with them for the most part.
None of you have to be jealous of Florida weather right now. Cold, windy and rainy. It will be that way tomorrow also. The beginning of December was beautiful but for the last week or so it has been kind of crummy. When I go for my early morning walk (6:30am) I have to bundle up in my winter Giant jacket with the hood up, Giant wool cap and Giant gloves. :rendeer:
-
If anyone is planning on coming to Florida to warm up, bring sweaters and gloves & a scarf. Quite cold today. Not cool, COLD! Yesterday was rainy and cool today is sunny & cold.
If you are taking the subway in NY at all, please stay back from the edge of the platform until the train is in the station & the doors open. Too many strange people out there. [-X

New Years eve was always special in our house when I was growing up. We could go anywhere we wanted before or after midnight but everyone in my family had to be home for a Midnight toast. Then we could go to neighbors etc:. My first sip of wine came on a New Years Eve while visiting "Ma & Pa" Brown's home. One year when I was real young my parents went around the corner to 13th St to visit my Aunt Ruth & Uncle Carl. While they were gone my Grandmother showed up. She sat at the kitchen table and poured herself a drink and started telling our dog Bosco that they had all deserted her on New Years Eve. We (my brothers & I) were sitting on the steps listening to her and cracking up. She was not used to drinking and every sip got her a little more melancholy. Then my parents and Aunt & Uncle showed up and the party really got going. We (my brothers & I) were shooed off to bed but I never forgot that scene after all these years. Happy New Year to all!
