8:30 pm:

MetroFolk – Transylvanians are known for partying all night, and this is the actual music that brings them to life. Come get down to hard-driving fiddle music from the Transylvanian counties. The group is lead by the amazing Jake Shulman-Ment, just back from his Fulbright research trip to study Jewish music in Moldavia. Raul Rothblatt will represent Prospect Place on his 3-string Hungarian-style bass.

10 pm:

Karavika (led by Trina Basu & Amali Premawardhana) and the Arun Ramamurthy Trio are two of New York's improvising string based ensembles. Interweaving the colorful threads found in Indian Classical music, Jazz & American folk styles, they create a soundscape that is unique & beautiful.. The artists combined include violinists Arun Ramamurthy and Trina Basu (both of Prospect Place), cellist Amali Premawardhana, bassist Perry Wortman, tabla player/drummer, Sameer Gupta.

11 pm

The Red Hot Rubies is a string band playing western swing, early jazz, and some fiery appalachian tunes and singing sweet harmonies. They will leave you holding on to your seats like you're on a run away train, then leave you dreamy eyed looking at the stars.
