Burrito Bar grossness — Brooklynian

Burrito Bar grossness

Every morning the crew of this place "cleans" up by dumping bits of food, grease, and cigarette butts into the sidewalk as well as the tree outside the restaurant on Prospect Place. They dont hose it down. It's obviously disgusting and lazy but is this legal and what would one do to report this issue?

  • Call 311.

  • That place is gross on more then one level.

Other than their sidewalk littering what else do they do that is gross? You know never mind I don't want to know. Their my favorite Mexican place.

  • It's been like this since they opened. It used to be even worse.

I like http://seeclickfix.com. It gives a public record of your complaint. Our elect officials haven't used SeeClickFix much yet, but I hope it'll get more attention.

You can also try calling Tish James' district office at 718-260-9191 .

  • They also leave those heavy ass planters on the sidewalk when the tables have long been removed. It's like they're asking to get in legal trouble. Very obnoxious. Do they also own that dreadful restaurant on Carlton & Park?

  • Seriously, am I the only person who likes the place?

  • Decent cheap margaritas and bar snacks. I have no problem with the place.

  • I agree that Burrito Bar's waste handling is not very sanitary.

I think the owner of Burrito Bar is on CB8's Sidewalk Cafe and Liquor License Committee. You could email CB 8 and ask them to pass the complaint on to the committee. [email protected]

I would also suggest that you email the North Flatbush Business Improvement District. NFBID is obviously "of the businesses, for the businesses" but with all the Barclays money I do believe they are trying to make some streetscape improvements and generally raise the profile of Flatbush businesses. I also find Burrito Bar's food to be pretty yucky (although no worse than a strip mall restaurant in your average suburb). And those planters are really irritating on a Saturday afternoon. But I really like the fact that BB welcomes a diverse crowd with relatively reasonable prices, and is family-friendly - not a a bad place to have a drink and some chips and salsa when the weather is nice.
