Electronics repair? — Brooklynian

Electronics repair?

Anyone have a recommendation for electronics repair in Crown Heights, Prospect Heights or thereabouts? Our Sony Dream Machine ipod dock/clock radio stopped working and I'd like to see if it's fixable before dropping $100 on a new one. Even Manhattan suggestions will do. Thanks!

Light consumer electronics like that can be difficult and/or expensive to repair. You might be able to pick up a used one in good condition on eBay or Amazon for the cost of fixing it.

  • Call J &R Television and Air Conditioning on 7th Avenue in Park Slope (unrelated to the huge store in lower Manhattan). I'm pretty sure they repair electronic appliances.

  • what's it doing/or not doing? won't power up, no audio, etc?

  • Yup...I was also going to highly recommend J&R in Park Slope...they are great. Here is their yelp page for reference..http://m.yelp.com/biz/j-and-r-television-and-air-conditioning-brooklyn

It still shows the time; the buttons on the left side (that control the clock) still work, but the buttons on the right (that control the radio/audio) do not.

  • This being the future, you can often find directions on how to repair small electronics on the internet. Or just tear it open and see what you find, and solder in some wires and buttons so it looks like a bomb.

Just don't bring to JFK or LGA.
