Overnight garage parking in PH? — Brooklynian

Overnight garage parking in PH?

My folks are coming to visit, first time since we moved to PH, and are concerned about the fate of their thief-magnet Toyota Camry on the street overnight. So I offered to look into garages for one or two nights of parking. Any recommendations in the 'hood, or warnings to stay away from any particular garage?

  • I'll ask my husband about the exact location of it, but when he has to park the "company truck" he uses a garage on Washington. He fully explored all the ones in the area to get the cheapest rate and he's been happy with this one. Again, I'll ask him the exact location and the rates per night - I feel like it's somewhere around 18 or 20 dollars a night though. I think.
  • when my parents came to town, we went to the garages on underhill b/w vanderbilt and underhill and on underhill b/w st marks and prospect, but both said they didn't have room to accomodate the vehicle. they said their monthly's had taken up all the room. not sure if it was a one time thing or if they're always full.

there's an outdoor lot on st marks b/w underhill and washington, but i don't know anything about it.
  • Isn't there a garage on Pacific between Carlton and Dean?
  • You have picked one of the toughest weekends for parking in the neighborhood. There is a garage on St. Johns btw. Classon and Franklin. They will all be packed with the West Indian Day Parade folks. The garage is owned by the Parkright Corp. http://www.parkright.com

    Good luck
  • Just park on the street. I had a camry here and the only time there was a problem is if you leave anything at all on the seats, or anywhere where it is visible. Then it will be broken into. But that can happen in a lot also.
  • Thanks. Luckily they aren't coming this weekend! I'll look for the place on Washington and ask around at other garages. I think they'd be fine on the street but if it means extra peace of mind for them (and us) it's not too bad to pay $20 for a night.
