Stolen Bike on St. Marks Ave.

Hello All. Please be careful when locking up your bike.

I locked my bike to a "No Parking" sign pole and they unscrewed the bolts and took my bike up and over the pole. And, this is the second theft I know of on this block in the last 10 months.

If you happen to see my bike (see photo) please shoot me an email.

Many thanks,

Southmark

  • Check Cragislist, if you have the serial number register your bike as stolen at http://www.nationalbikeregistry.com/register.html and if you have renter's insurance try and file a claim.

  • How tall of a pole? Overnight, or even during a daytime stop?

Just to calibrate my own paranoia level.

  • ehgee I like to give the pole a give solid shake and make sure it's in the ground.. Your bike should be locked up safely in your apartment every night. Leaving it locked overnight in the street is just begging for someone to vandalize, strip and or steal it.
