I bet you could get a bingo night going at Freddy's if there was enough demand for it. After all, they had a frickin' D&D night!

I think there's spme kind of law against "gaming" in bars. I remember being hassled as a teenager for playing Rummy 500 in a bar in Brooklyn Heights (note, not for being a teenager drinking in a bar). It seemed like just pulling out a deck of cards was a red flag for the bartender.
Anyone know anything about this? I suspect if such a law exists, it's about gambling rather than actual card-playing. I don't know how (or why) you'd play bingo without playing for money (for street cred?).
I've been to Bingo Night at Tortilla Flats (which is admittedly also a restaurant) in that other borough, but basically there was no gambling involved. It was free to play, and they gave away some token prizes (t-shirt, etc.). I'm not sure what the law is on this. -

I can't get into games that are based on pure luck (and, perhaps, the ability to correctly hear the number/letter called and mark it down). I like games that have a mixture of luck and skill. I also don't like games that require pure skill and logic (like chess), which just stress me out.

The only place I know that can legally play bingo for money is a church and many of the churches here have bingo night. I remember there was a big crowd that used to go to the St. Peter St. Paul (Wyckoff & Court) bingo night on Fri's

Has anyone tried the new soul food place on 6th Ave at Sterling, in the old Y Canteen space?madamefoo55 wrote: no more Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, etc.
We've got none of those in PH! Only across the border where they don't have a Joyce Bakeshop. -

Sounds like you might like the one called "Marriage". "Child-rearing" is also a good one for mixing luck and skill. -

You are correct! I am currently enjoying both of those games, so much so that I'm 5 months pregnant with #2.
I'm dreading the looming spectre of "Candyland." (all luck, no skill).
