Bella Greens-- RIP? — Brooklynian

Bella Greens-- RIP?

unless they've gone into the self-demolition business, it looks like Bella Greens has given up the ghost.

Seriously can't keep track of what's opening/closing on franklin these days. Spotted a 2005-era cellphone store around St. Marks on my walk back to EP from Compare... surprising.

  • Passed by this morning and the awning/window gates were painted red. Anyone know what's going on there?

  • I've stopped watching sites that small, so I can't help on this one.

What do readers think would work in this site? Is there anything we think the area would support, but has yet to open?

....and would fit in that small of a space?

  • The area is so small I can't see it deviating much from being quick bite/take out place. Though, wasn't it a tattoo shop before Bella Greens?

  • Peeking in a few weeks back, looked like they were ripping out all the old fixtures. Maybe a small shop or something?

It was. They moved further south on Franklin. They are good.

  • I walked by last night and saw them setting up racks of boutique-y clothing inside.

  • Thanks Nadia!

readers, we are talking about 717 Franklin Avenue.

Here is a photo of it when it had signage for old tattoo parlor, and Bella Greens:

Here is a shot of the larger building. SW corner of St. Marks Park Place and Franklin Avenue.

This space is to the right, small green awning.

  • you are wrong! this is park place and franklin. and bella greens will now be a designer consignment, accessory place that will feature new york designers. A big win for the fashionistas.

  • You are right about this being on the corner of Plark Pl, not St. Marks.

    ...I have now fixed that.

However, I think we should give Nada some leeway on what kind of racks she saw; Still sounds boutique-y to me.

  • I accept the correction to "designer consignment clothing and accessories". :)

  • The store was open for business yesterday August 14th 2013.

Looks like a hip, yet mature, place for well cared for designer goods.

  • Have they given said store a name?
