Clara writes: "had just come out of a building on Washington Avenue at around 3:45 today and heard a loud thud. Before I knew it, a driver who had been traveling north on Washington Avenue stopped her car and ran to my side of the street. There was a young girl about the age of 10 on the ground and she seemed to be in pretty bad shape. The girl was administered CPR by someone in the crowd and paramedics and police were there within 10 minutes. No one in the area recognized the young girl and last we heard she was taken to Kings County with head trauma. I can't stop thinking about the little girl and am hoping/praying that she will be okay. Has anyone heard anything else of her condition?"

    Here's some help with abbreviations:

    MVA=Motor Vehicle Accident

    KCH=Kings Country Hospital

    CIS=Collision Investigation Squad

    Note, the difference in time between when Clara saw this accident and Breaking News Network can be explained by the fact they only publish crimes reach the "Emergency Service Unit- Lieutenant " level.

    Officers and EMTs were likely on the scene before this scene was deemed to be that serious.

    If the young girl died at the scene or upon arrival to the hospital, it will likely show up on local media before the night is over.

    In the case of a child, press releases are sometimes not sent to the media by the NYPD until relatives have been located and notified, and the media is asked to use discretion with any info that it may learn on its own.

    CLINTON HILL — A girl suffered cardiac arrest after being struck by a vehicle at 514 Washington Avenue in Brooklyn Friday afternoon, fire officials said.

    The 12-year-old was hit about 4 p.m. on Washington Avenue between Gates Avenue and Fulton Street, according to the FDNY. The girl was taken to Kings County Hospital.

    Authorities said they did not know her condition.

    Police are investigating the incident.
