Is sterling place between Troy ave and Schenectady ave safe?

Hi! I don't know a lot about brookylyn! I would really appreciate some honest answers about crime and safety on this part of sterling place. I've heard mixed reviews and I'm considering moving in with a friend who lives in an apt on this street. Thank you!!!

There have been a couple of shootings there in the last few months. Quite a bit gang/drug activity on Schenectady. It's not the worst block but there are better. Only two blocks from the Albany houses which is not the best place to be.

We are on Park Place between Troy and Schnectady, we're a family with a 2 year old. We've never experienced any issues. Heard about some of the shootings on Sterling but never experienced any problems 1st hand, on the contrary people are very friendly and seem chilled out! That being said because of 2 year old we're not wandering around the neigborhood late at night!

The first sixteen steps are safe, followed by about two feet of unsafe sidewalk, and then it's kind of stop and go from there.

My point is, no matter what strangers tell you on the internet, you won't be able to decide until you spend some time there late on a monday night. Though my friend was robbed at gunpoint on the upper east side, so who the fuck knows about anything anymore
