Ah, unfortunate about this whole situation. Was psyched about the renovations.

One advantage of newer buildings is they are constructed with concrete subfloors, reducing the chance that fires will spread to adjoining floors and saving lives.

this is tragic on so many levels. This woman lost her life for absolutely no reason. The national building code is clear, if you have flame below you need ansul or another agent to protect the source and notification devices for the residents above. The real estate lobby is so powerful that all these old buildings remain without sprinklers or an automatic fire alarm system that includes pull stations, notification devices like horn strobes and a central station communication device that sends for help without human interaction. As bars and cafes, grocery storesNO FIRE PROTECTION, all have found themselves under or unprotected due to a DOB that is completely phucked up.

$8000/month!!! Wow!!! Crazy. And it's listed by two members of the local community association. Don't community associations usually want to help prevent/stop greedy inflation like this? Really makes one wonder. Like the saying goes, it all comes out in the wash...

Sept 14: Storefront still for rent. Apartments in building still not repaired; Plywood on windows.
Howdy, Stranger!
