  • im praying that they start running the G into park slope next year, as was rumored. Connection to the R, a whole new plethora of grocery options...I'd be in G train heaven!
  • Last night Tish James mentioned that she has told the mayor that the G should be connected to the IRT line before she can consider approving congestion pricing (or something like that).

It is indeed supposed to. I actually wrote the MTA about how little sense it makes to terminate the G at Smith/9th when it continues past 4th Ave to turn around anyway. They replied saying they're upgrading the track conditions and are hoping to have the G running to Church Ave by 2008. We'll see when and if it actually happens, but it was nice to hear there was some sort of "plan" in action.

This gives me a shred of hope.

i really hope it does end up happening. i just moved from the south slope area and will be living off the G at my new place, and i'd like to venture back there easily cause there was lotsa bars and restaurants and a record store i'm gonna miss having within a few minutes walk away. getting off at Smith/9th and waiting for the F to go ONE stop is such a pain (did it in the reverse direction when I'd want to hang out in Ft Greene and Greenpoint) and it's beyond annoying. c'mon G train, take us where we wanna go!
