  • Okay, I've been meaning to get to this, but I'm never near my menus. I've got two recommendations, both Chinese food.

Tak King on Fulton at New York Ave (718) 622-3416 is the best in the neighborhood and they will deliver as far as Eastern Parkway, if I'm not mistaken. Food is inexpensive and always fresh.

The Hunan Wok on 7th Avenue (718) 230-4008 delivers to us, and has great chinese if you don't mind the wait (its closer to an hour vs the 20-30 min for Tak King). Bigger selection and more vegetarian selections.

There is a spanish restaruant at the corner or Park and Nostrand that delivers. I've never ordered take out as they are close enough for me to walk. My contractors used to eat there all the time, and I take that as a ringing endorsement as the contractors eat more take out than anyone I know.

Also I've gotten menus from a place call Rodriguez #2 on Nostrand and Sterling, but never ordered and can't recommend them.

    Any others?
  • We had pizza delivered from Kingston Pizza a couple of nights ago. It was average, but, it was better than the places on Nostrand and DELIVERY! Kingston Pizza : 259 Kingston Ave (718) 774-7665 only open until 9:00 though.
  • The Chicago Pizza on Nostrand delivers-- not the best pizza but also, surprisingly, not the worst I've ever had. And, you know, they deliver...

Sorry to be silly, but where does this zip code cover? I always thought CH proper was 11213. Sorry to go often topic. Just curious.
  • It covers what is geographically Bed-Stuy and Crown Heights. The PO for 11216 is on Atlantic just off of Nostrand. I know the zip runs as far north as Jefferson and as far south as St. Johns and west to east from Frankin to Thompkins/Brooklyn, but I'm not sure if those are the exact boundaries of the zip or not.
  • Thanks for the response!
  • Do you mean Kings Pizza on Fulton at Brooklyn Avenue? Kings Pizza is the best! It's the best! Fresh, fast, delicious ... perfect! Try their eggplant parmigiani. Mmm!

There's a roti place on the south side of Fulton between Tompkins and Kingston (I think) that said they would deliver (I had take-out, and it was good).

(On the same block but the north side of the street, there's a new soul food restaurant, Tajasia, with live jazz on the weekends.)

  • Subject: Sushi!

Sushi Tatsu on Flatbush in Park Slope delivers to me in CH all the time.

Their prices are good - not CH cheap, but reasonable. And they're really nice and pretty prompt, too. Good lunch specials and very tasty rolls.
718-638-7800 is phone or find them on CitySearch:

  • Tatsu,
Not to New York and St. Johns.
    Nothing delivers here.
Nostrand is a very, very long way from Washington, and even Franklin.
  • Subject: Tatsu tasty

I live past NY and St. Johns - no reason they shouldn't go to you. I'm on Lincoln and Brooklyn!

Call and ask nicely? :) Beg them? Honestly, I went in there the other day to eat and told them how much I appreciated the fact that they deliver to us - I work at home and my assistant and I order from there like 4 times a week. They were really nice peeps.
  • Gen sushi in Prospect Heights will deliver to CH for $5.
  • Subject: NEW PIZZA!!

New on Nostrand and sterling is Frankos pizza, in any other neighbourhood this would not be terribly astonishing but there aint much here save the roti.......anyhow, i have tried it....its New york Pizza!!!.....Just like every other $2 slice in town, (and I mean that as a big compliment)....Franko looks EXACTLY like Tony soprano, make sure you mention that to him, he must hear it every day and was not amused......!!..they deliver 718 773 0115

This place sucks. Crust was to thick and not enough cheese or sauce. :(
  • Chavella's on Classon IS open! See thread:
    http://brooklynian.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=32419

The food is good, the people ARE nice, and they should be delivering more now. Initially when they opened they were slow to do that, but I'm sure they've picked that up.

Clearly you don't read these boards, because you'd know that there is NO delivery by the local dealers, like in the fancy parts of BK. Strictly streetcorner sales here.
  • places that deliver past franklin north of EP.

    1. shane's on washington...sometimes...not predicatable
    2. tom's diner reliable (but their hours are strange)
    3. cucina amorina on vanderbilt (real good italian) reliable
    4. joy's indian ok indian (but their delivery persons are moody...maybe cuz they gotta scale 4 flights of stairs)...they have made me walk down to meet them in the past...
    5. nana from park slope very good thai food, pretty good on delivery but at times complain about going so far out...
    6. the flatbush supermarket (that key food's one that has a really big glass storefront)
    7. the islands (but they take up to one hour sometimes)
    8. dominos actually...but they are a real pain in the ass (i do not order from them anymore)..they have failed to deliver a few times when i have ordered.
    9. gino's pizza...the best pizza i could find in many years that i have been in this hood.

one place that i wish delivered...gloria's on nostrand (corner of sterling i believe)...best roti EVER, and the ladies that work there are really nice...

just interesting....if uve been to carnival anywhere in the isands, and have had beer there...one can get carib, mackeson, shandy and other "island" biers in corner bodega at EP (north) and franklin.
  • square feet (and everybody else), can you post the phone numbers of the places that deliver?

    thanks1
  • how about picking up sum yellow pages...hmmmm...
  • Subject: can we make a restaurant / places that deliver sticky?

I think moderators can do this...sorry..pretty new at message boards technology...
  • We usually only do stickies for upcoming events, lost pets, that kind of thing, but howsabout I make the thread about places that deliver sticky for this weekend so people see it and contribute to it? Sound like a good compromise?

I'm going to merge this thread with that one, too, to keep the posts in one place.
  • Yellow Pages? Who needs 'em with the Intarnets? :)
