the laundromat on Myrtle next to the Associated does a fine job. They have messed anything up for us ever.
edit: they HAVEN'T messed anything up. (ooops!) -

Here is another vote for Bubbleworks. I have used them for the past 7 years. Nothing like having laundry and dry cleaning picked up and delivered.

Subject: Dry Cleaner on Franklin near Fulton
I don't know how close this is to you, but it's on our way if we take the C train from Frankin. The place looks like a hole in the wall, but I've been very pleased with the work. Examples: he covered the buttons, removed a pin I'd left on the lapel, removed the gloves I'd left in the pockets and returned the whole winter coat neatly on the hanger with the pin back in place and the gloves neatly pinned to the hanger. It's not expensive either. I was much happier with the service and the price than a place I had tried on Fulton near the Clinton/Washington station, where they ironed the pockets funny and charged much more. -
That place on Fulton by the A/C on Washington stole an expensive duvet cover we had gotten as a gift from India. They kept saying they'd find it, and then eventually when my wife kept asking for it the guy screamed at my wife to leave the store saying we were liars.
Awful store, terrible owners, horrible service. -
might help to know where in the area you are?

This is more in Fort Greene, but I've used Howie's Dry Cleaner on Myrtle near Carlton for years with no problem. Nothing special, but totally reliable. -

kevin, is this dry clean only or do they do laundry? and is it on fulton? i'm looking for a place where i can do my laundry myself (or where someone will do a really great job for me). i've been using the spot on top of the c train station on fulton and washington, but i don't love the results.
thanks for any info you can send my way! -
Stay away from the Wash & Dry on Lafayette next to La Bagel.....
They said my coat would take 5 days and gave me a pickup time. I double checked because I was flying out of town the next day. When I went to pick it up, he said they forgot it at the other cleaners, and if I wanted it, I would have to go get it! Also told me it was only a 5-10 minute drive but I did not believe when I saw the address was in Bensonhurst! I received no courtesy or apology for my 30 minute ride to get my coat, and it still cost an arm and a leg.
I learned my lesson. If you're getting dry cleaning done, make sure it's not just a laundromat that has a send out service. It takes longer and costs twice as much!
Good luck. -

DON'T GO TO BUBBLEWORKS! They are absolutely awful. The have four-hour windows to pick up and drop off When I used them, they picked up on a SUnday night and were due to drop off on a Wednesday night. A half-hour into the scheduled drop-off time, after I rushed home for the start time, they called and said they weren't coming because the laundry wasn't finished. To reschedule, even though it was their fault, they refused to schedule a smaller window then four hours, and refused to offer any discount or even a coupon in concilliation. Then when I got the bill, I was floored! All around awful. And Clean Rite is also significantly more expensive then the drop-off/pick-up place I used when I lived in Manhattan.
