PH ladies, chill with the tight, tapered pants
I know the fashion has been addressed in other threads, but come on. Very few of you can pull them off. For most of you, it looks like you've got a turd in the back of your pants, hovering over two poultry getaway sticks. Seriously. This is one of the worst retro trends in years. At least back in the '80s they were made to fit around a woman's bottom. Granted, sometimes women (and men) had to squat over a steaming pot of water to get them on, and use pliers on the zippers, but still. And you guys who think you look good in those nut-cutters... I'm speechless. Seriously, instead of being such fashion whores, wear what looks good on you, and above all, LOOK IN THE MIRROR.

LOL.
it is distressing, no? I refuse to obtain a pair (I mean, come on, I'd look so fucking stupid!) but they're insidious. like those fucking knit gauchos from last year that are back again. THEY MUST GO. I don't want to see your cootchie cutters, girls. camel toe be damned. and ass sweat? GROSS. please, wear underwear.
omg. so many fashion rants. so MANY!
(oh, and guys? if you're going to wear non ... rigid pants, please don't get all hard. I had a very distressing moment on the F train when I looked up and saw a guy wearing ... a pair of sweatpants and a windbreaker. windbreaker unzipped. but, unfortunately, and right around face level for my poor eyes, I got a nice view of his half-hard manliness (very prominently displayed despite his sweat pants - they don't stop things that like to STICK OUT). SO DAMN GROSS. yes, I jumped up, said "you're gross", and bolted. thankfully, it was my stop.) -
plus the pegged pants make the girls look like they have duck feet. especially in those 80's gold & silver flats, yucko.
-
Don't be hatin', lardasses. And all you fine looking ladies trying to pull off the the Ramones look, keep it up. You make that trip to, and on, the Q so much finer every morning. Gabba, gabba.
-
i used to wear tight jeans in the 80's and 90's and people thought i was gay lol.

oh, I have no problem with the Ramones look. IF YOU'RE A STICK FIGURE! yeesh.

and yes, some of us lardasses wish that fashion were a bit less retarded, especially since it seems to make non-lardasses look like lardasses. it's very sad. it's hard to compete when EVERYONE looks fat. -
Lol, - fair enough, only hotties should wear form fitting clothes, I take it. Hopefully that will put a stop to the epidemic of muffin tops around this 'hood.
-
Those pants make women with great bodies look bad. It's insane. And I agree with Vanilla's gold and silver flats comment.
-
the female buttocks
such plushness
in any shape, size, form
is a work of art
amen
one fashion trend that i won't hate saying goodbye to
are those darned cowboy boots
i never saw the attraction in 'em
i guess maybe it goes with REM's michael stipe's
small cowboy hat for men...?
who started that boot fashion trend for women?
-
hahha. the cowboy boots in the summer trend is totally idiotic. I have no idea how anyone can handle it. but I love cowboy boots ... and yes, mine were obtained in texas, several years ago. they're just damn comfortable. but when approaching snow ... I bust out the fluevog motorcycle boots. way better traction.
-
I disagree. Not every shape and size of female buttocks look good. Some have very little appeal.
-
Ladies, your bottoms look lovely in most pants, particularly Human League/Gang of Four era strides. Stride on.
-
But then again, I am an ass afficionado.
-
Hey Quijibo, are you Haiku-ing?

nahhh. i always write like this
put sentences into clouds
gives it a visual tempo -
please describe the type
Flat, negative, disproportionately small, dumpy, sloppy, and not maintained.
which female buttocks does not appeal to you? -
Seriously, what are negative buttocks? Are only women's buttocks negative or can guys' be, too? You seem to be the defacto buttock expert
-
Some women have them. They kind of look like they're migrating toward the front of the body. A negative poke out. Really.

i've had slices of what you describe
butt never that entire combination -
liftandcut, sounds like you really need a close encounter with some female buttocks, I think it would do you the world of good.
or maybe that's not your thing. -
Some guys like a woman with little or no butt. I don't understand it, but to each his own.

Yesterday I passed an all-too-common sight, a woman (probably in her 30s but seemed older if you know what I mean) with her big fat belly and jiggly thighs bobbling out of her midriff top and shorts. Plus, her stomach was completely striated with stretch marks. And I thought, for the millionth time, WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?
When I rule the world, people will be ticketed for these sort of offenses.
People always talk about women having poor body images, the unattainable perfection of media images, etc., but if you ask me too many people have positive body images who really shouldn't. :?
As for the cowboy boots, I blame Sienna Miller. -

Any fashion trend that inspires the kind of writing below is ok by me!liftandcut wrote: I know the fashion has been addressed in other threads, but come on. Very few of you can pull them off. I confess...
I am one of the PH ladies who - horrors! - wears skinny jeans. And doubly worse, I wear them with BALLET FLATS!
However, I do not wear knit pants of any kind (gauchos & leggings - blech!), thoroughly shun the cowboy boots/ skirt look, passionately despise the dresses-over-pants look, refrain from wearing anything too short or revealing and only bare my midriff at the beach.
But I love me some skinny jeans... maybe I'm delusional, but I think they look pretty sweet on skinny girls (of which I am a card carrying member). And it's one of the only '80s fashion throwbacks I'll support (and yes, I'm old enough to know). When I think skinny jeans, I think of those cute boys & girls who skateboarded, listened to punk rock when it really was punk rock and smoked behind the handball courts. Granted, every fashion trend is not for every body type, and there are lots of people who should be forced to pay a fashion penance. But I would like to think that my buttocks/ skinny jeans/ Ramones-ian black Converse combo set Anfield atwitter on the Q train. -
Skinny jeans are totally fab if you're skinny.
Gauchos, on the other hand, should be outlawed FOREVER.
Howdy, Stranger!
